Hi Could anyone suggest a good tracker ?? in the UK

try tracker monitor.

had one on my 911 for a couple of years and never had any problems. think it was around £450 to fit and £300 for lifetime subscription.

Never had any problems with it, when the car went off to get serviced on a transporter it always called me to say the car was on the move..... so it definatley worked.

Also look at mtrack. You can log onto their website and see where your vehicle is live. Updates every 5 mins on the location. You can also lock in GSP location e.g garage and if the vehicle moves outisde of this parameter you are advised.

TBH I don't see the point in a Tracker.

Serious (to order) thieves know how to make them useless, so they're a waste of time IMHO.

Plus Tracker refuse to give figures of how many Tracker fitted cars are NOT recovered, only how many are recovered - so it's impossible to calculate their success rate. And if something is hidden, it makes me suspicious.

Likewise and of the two people I know that have had their cars stolen to order the thieves know how to bypass / eliminate the Tracker.

as nib, i have a horizon...but like dave and p-g have said if it is top notch thieves they know how to knock it out... but it does give you that little bit of extra sense of security...

Did think about a tracker for a while, but as some of the others, I couldn't see the point. Also, the cost of insurace wasn't reduced with a tracker fitted so there is no incentive. Might just by a tracker sticker

Sorry to put a very negative spin on this but the majority of cars are now stolen with the key. Most people keep the key in their house, so in order for the scumbags to get the key they have to break in. Hopefully you are not asleep when this happens. After all of this do you then want you car tracked and recovered. Not matter how phenomenal the car is, if they want it that much they can keep it.

Agreed. If they're prepared to enter an occupied house or, hold up the car & driver there's not much you can do.

When my BMW went during the night using the keys it was found parked up on a main road about 20 miles away. The theives then watch it for 24hrs to see if it's recovered & if not, they send a youngster back with the key to take it away. Thames Valley plod say it's quite a common way of doing it.

Hampshire plod say that cars are left in containers with the vehicle battery disconnected until the Tracker (if there is one) battery runs down.

Agree that most thetfs are now of the key from the house, because the factory fit immobiliers are so difficult to get round.

regardless if people see it pointless or not, for some cars insurers require a tracker so you dont really have a choice.

for the 911 i required one, for the rs4 i dont - both through the same insurance co.
