New owner saying Hi

Post by Steve_C » Sun Jun 20, 2010 10:24 pm

Hi guys
Just saying hello as I have just put down a deposit for an RS4 and should be picking it up next week.

I have bought the avant from German Marques http://www.german-marques.co.uk/detail.asp?id=31 so would be interested to hear any comments on this car if you know its history or whether you think it is a good price at £26995!

I am now considering whether to take out a warranty or not but was quoted £2k for an Audi warranty of £1k for a WarrantyWise one. What are the costs of typical repairs required to RS4s and do most people take the risk or play it safe and take out the warranty?

Although I will try to fill it with 97/98 octane fuel, is it okay to put 95 in occasionally?

Am thinking of de-badging it - should this be a simple process?

Any advice/recommendations re maintenance (or anything else) would be gratefully received - I am based in the E. Midlands.

Thanks Sims, looks like Warranty Direct is the way to go.

Mileage is 67k with FASH.

don't EVER put 95 fuel in it....on

Always put 99 fuel (Tesco super / vpower / Ultimate)

The difference at the pump is literally a few quid, so why even bother to try and save that when your putting it in a £27k super saloon?

Price is about right for that mileage. Quite a few out there now with lower mileage that that, something to take on board.

Looks V clean though!

Thanks, and I will always try put high octane in - I just wondered if I'm caught short and the petrol station only has 95, is it okay to put a few gallons in to get me to the next high octane station?

Hi Marcus, as I only do 6000 miles pa, my thinking is to save a few quid on a high mileage example that will come down to an average mileage example if and when I sell in years to come.

Sure, no problem, :)

aka_DK is right, try and stay with Shell/Tesco/Ultimate brand.

Thanks Sims, and thanks everyone for the prompt replies. Should be picking the car up on Wed so will post back my initial thoughts after taking the scenic route home!

95ron should only be used in an emergency only, you will get more MPG using 97ron and above. 95ron will cause the car to burn rich having a adverse effect on the pre-cats (warm up cats).

Use 97 RON and above only.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
