Hi, Can anyone help me please - I am looking to get an idea of how loud a valved non-res Milltek is on an Avant before I go out and buy one. Basically I am keen to hear just how load they are and whether with valves closed it would be quiet enough to keep the wife and kids happy.
Are there any members out there in SW London or Surrey with one fitted who could take me for a quick spin, would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Noel.

Sorry I cant help you, however I would advise getting the valved system, best of both worlds esp if you have a avant as the acoustics are different to a saloon
The saloon back seats act as a sound deadening, where as in the avant its open inside so. FYI
Have you searched youtube for any sound clips I know it does not do the sound justice but will give you an idea.

RE: Milltek test drive
Sonny, thanks for the advice.
Yeah, I have looked at youtube which has made me want one even more but can't really get a proper idea of how loud it would be. Another issues is on start up when the valves open whcih i think will make my wife feel like a boy racer. She has never forgiven me for putting a devil exhaust on our Clio Williams years ago...

slightly different gravy!
the other option is valved resonated..she'd be hard pushed to tell the difference on start up..you only get the beef further up the rev range...press the button, and listen to it sing...

Valves only stay open on start up for around 30-45 seconds, then close.
You get a drone around 1800-2400rpm rev range, once you are use to it you can control the drone using the gears (if that makes sense). You really do need a test drive.
