Don't suppose anyone knows of any good, reasonably priced indy garages up the NE of Scotland?

...preferably up towards Inverness area but Aberdeen would be good too.

Cheers

Cheers Brooner

I've been thinking about heading on the LONG drive down to MRC tuning and making a week of it at my girlfriend's relations, but it's a hell of a long way to go to get tuned up!

I've never had any aftersales experience with Inverness Audi, but I'm kind of put off by their labour rate - also I can't see them doing a custom remap or anything like that!

Cheers again tho, I'll have a look thru those links

I got a quote from Volks (I live in Aberdeen) to do my aux rads and they were the same price as Audi. Other than that, i had heard that they were ok.

I bought my 2nd rs4 from pickwick performance near Cullen. He deals with audis and vw's.
Think his website is pickwickperformance.co.uk

I thought he was really good, no bullshit and genuine.

He'd had a few rs4's recently and can provide servicing too. Ill be taking my car there when it needs anything (I live in Aberdeen)

I'm in a similar boat at the moment having used 3 of those mentioned in the last few years.

Aberdeen Audi :piss:
Steer well clear. Some recent experience

Apart from recall work only used them once before going to use volks centre instead.

Aberdeen Volks Centre
Used them for about 4 years when I had my S4. Were very good so as you would expect got much more popular and busy and their rates now reflect this. Were very good as to what needed fixed, none of the "you need new brake pads/discs, wipers" nonsense. Only stopped using them because I bought the RS4 new and wanted dealer for history and any warranty work.

Highland Audi
First time I used them there was a problem but it felt like they went out off their way to resolve it. Second visit was fine. Third visit was a fiasco - oil cooler leak, had to wait on parts to the following week so got a 1.6 A3 - bang went the fun drive home via the lecht. Car delivered back to me in Aberdeen only to find out they had crimped the headlight washer hose when refitting the bumper so it didn't work. They had to come collect the car and take it back to Inverness to fix. They failed to collect the car the first day it was arranged because they forgot :bash:
Not sure whether to try Highland again. After the first 2 visits I would have recommended but after the last visit the jury is out.

Not had any issues with Aberdeen Audi I have to admit, pretty good service for both cars.

I've used Bavaria Autowerks too for some work on the RS4 and they were also good and reasonably priced.

have to say have used highland audi for my s3, then a63ltr tdi and now rs6 and they have bee more than helpful each time i have been ther.no worrieswith dropping car of at weekends when i am home and taking a loan car for the week to come down to aberdeen and back on the friday/sat to pick my car up. ok the prices are still main dealer but they are no where near as bad as aberdeen( shower of winkers) but then you do get the peace of mind of audi cover for 2 years on parts/labour.

only my opinion but like i said have never found a problem with then and on the one occasion i complained they collected car took it back rectified the issue and returned foc no arguing.

TBH - I'll probably just drive the RS4 down from Inverurie to Unit 20 in Chester........ parents live 10 mins from Grizz's place too so I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Still, it would be nice to have somewhere local that we Aberdonians could trust ;)

The guys on Eastside VW all seem to use motorwerks: http://www.motorwerks.co.uk/ for their needs in Aberdeen. Saying that, I'm sort of in the middle between Motorwerks and Star performance, so the Jury is out as to who I'd use when I get my S4. But probably give motorwerks a try first as my office is in Aberdeen.

Star did my timing belt and that on my Golf 1.8T and I couldn't fault them. Very friendly, Jim knows his stuff, and give me and the wife a lift to and from the train station so we could spend the day in Edinburgh while the work was being done. They are very good.
