Tell me about B7 seats please

Post by RS4Kev » Sat Mar 27, 2010 8:51 pm

Hi all

Still looking to replace my R32. Went to look at a B7 @ the stealers which had the bucket seats. They're very similar to my R32 seats which i just don't get on with. I see a few b7's with "standard" seats which i'm hoping are more for me. So....

1> any decent photos of the non bucket seats?
2> what is correct name for these
3> are they as similar to the B5 ones i had as they look?

Help for a prospective owner please!

TIA

Kev

Apart from the RS4 logo in the seat back the RS4 Recaros are the same as the B6/B7 S4 Recaros.

I have the Recaros and find them really comfortable, I test drove an RS4 with the bucket seats and found they made my back pain unbearable.

I don't have them, but wish I did :(

The buckets are also nice, but quite focused in the application. As Sonny says, perfect for track use. It is also possible they suit a smaller person better?

Am I right in saying that the optional Recaro's (going by the photos) have full electric adjustability whereas the buckets only came with manual adjustment (with the exception of the bolster and lumbar support).

Do the Recaros have memory seats too?

Its a well know fact that cars with the electric Recaros are noticably slower due to the extra weight!!!!!!.... Buckets rule.....

Track days per year - less than 10?

Road days per year - more than 350?

buckets IMO are fantastic, but if you're a keen fan of pies then perhaps not the best option, as im normal shaped and at times I find myself a bit constrained in them

the also look the dogs....adds a wow factor to the interior IMO

Yes for your average Joe Bloggs.

I drive my car less than 84 days a year. 4- track days per year. that's me, however im sure some others on here will be different than me.

I have tested the Reccaros, but did not like them, the buckets are very comfy for me. again personal preference.
