A tuned B5 vs a tuned C5 = not much in it in a straight line, which is what we've been talking about all along

and yes, we could have chucked in Evo's & Scoobies - but was resticting the group to classy, comfortable cars

My pal just bought an evo (8 I think) and, although he's said nothing yet, I bet he's chuffed he can keep pace. I've also yet to remind him evo's ain't german...or audi for that matter

Does German matter as much now?

Surely a std. B7 is faster than a std. C5.

stated 0-60 is pretty similar, but in the real world, in a straight line, a healthy C5 will be quicker, only just though

but then a simple map can give you up to 50bhp

Depends. My own experience says B7 is a fair bit faster. Have no clue whether or not the RS6 was healthy, but I sure know that my RS4 is healthy.

I'd say so...

quality from VW/Audi/BMW is mostly always top notch - and generally above other manufacturers...IMO that is

I've got a neighbour round the corner with a C5 and my B7 would always stay with it...in fact I'd say that right at the top of the rev range I was able to slightly close him down.

On the other hand, in a recent duel with a ex-B7 now V8 M3 owner on the board, the old B5 S4 did me proud...

;-)

To the OP, are we talking about a X6M here or some other version? Doesn't that monster have about 540hp from the V8TT?

This was my Rs4 versus a friend of mine in his RS6 (he used to be on the C5 forum) when we were on the "Rabbit Run" europe trip.

He had a Miltek and it sounded lovely but on numerous occasions we had a burn up and mine was a little bit quicker. Mine had just a remap by Ray West and his had the exhaust.

1. im surpised by that, having owned x2 RS 6's and now the RS 4, but fair play - maybe I should have more faith! but does seem too much of a margin, perhaps his '6 was down on power, they can require quite alot of upkeep

2. that trip looked AMAZI?NG!

Raced a Nissan GTR last week through the curves there was nothing in it! infact i was brake check-in! On the straight he didn't get away like you'd imagine either, the driver has got everything to do with it! i guess he wasn't up to the task. I've had the pleasure of driving a GTR and i'd have to say it's the fastest most focused car i've ever driven by a long way.

saying that i wouldn't swap my RS for anything right now! The GTR for me is like a bit on the side, great for the weekend but i wouldn't want to live with it.
