engine sound and power are excellent
also the handling is great, magnetic ride seems better than drc
no understeer, no dive, no rolling ( hope it's the correct english term )

the gearbox is not good, if the rs4 is a 9, the ttrs one is a 5

On Monday I'll remap it, I'll post results

Tested today with soft remap
5 °C, raining
start on wet, braking after 840m from 230 down to 169kmh and after 1000m the time was 22.9sec.
this car is incredible, why there is no ttrs forum dedicated to this car i thing this is a good RS ( if we exclude the gear-box )

All those numbers confuse me, but I get the drift that it's a quick car, and a great match also for the Cayman S.

The TT weighs 1450kgs against 1650 for the saloon & 1710 for the Avant.

looking at those numbers his TTRS was doing 0-100 mph (160kph) in 9.9 seconds before the remap and now 9.75 seconds after the remap. That is quick, stock R8 quick, and approx 1 second faster to 100 mph than the stock RS4 (going by EVO's figures)


the before and after remap figures for his TTRS 0-200 kph (124mph) run are 15.4 secs then 14.9 secs post remap. I think the RS4 is meant to do this in 16.6 seconds.



you say its a soft remap, any idea what sort of power its putting out now?

I've seen a few used ones on the audi network for £41-42 k, still expensive. if it was 35k, would be much more reasonable IMHO!

No doubt it is quick car and I've been up agaionst one andf there is little in it / he had the edge in gear however until either they become mid 20's in price or grow to RS4 Avant size it is compromised for me. Sound is very decent but it isn't a V8.

AFAIK it's not made in Germany by quattro GmbH and does not have a WUA chassis number - make your own conclusions from that..

Thanks for that - I have made my conclusion they are unlikely to make a TT into a full RS, just as they decided not to make an RS8.

So it is the 4/5 seater middle range cars - RS4, RS5, RS6 and maybe an RS3

I agree sims, but that isn't the reason I bought an RS4. The original Quattro was a greta var, but to be fair it's succes was when it was the only one with 4WD, much like when I watched and Audi entered BTCC with Biela, the A4 Quattro blitzed almost everything including the flying Scotsman Cleland and tarquini ebven with maximum ballast.

All the alternatives you quote are very much more expensive. An M3 CSL sounds OK too, but alas only a 6.

Yes they are all more expensive which is another reason for loving the RS4. I've never been a great fan of the straight 6 in the M3 and CSL, sounds like a bag of bolts being chucked around for me.

Now that Mercedes have the 6.2 V8, that is a great sounding car as well.
