Would it help to train the Police Officers?

Lol to be fair they apparently avoid Sprint Blue and we are less spolier'd and intake'd up than the Japanese cars?

happened to me in october for 2nd time, since the first time i made it so they have to get through three locked doors before they get the rs4 keys, however my pal was staying over and left his keys in the kitchen which they saw, being audi keys they thought christmas had come early, wheeled my car down road ready and couldnt start it as the keys they had were for an avant tdi parked down the road, ha, id love to have seen their faces, class.

they specifically came for the car as they left alot of expensive stuff behined which would have been easy to take and threw a £500 coat in the bushes outside the house.

i now have cctv with sensors all around the house and sleep very little at night as never heared them either time.

is it worth the hassle, well i still think so for now but how far will they go?
its unlikely the pitiful punisment will ever deter these lowlife theiving tramps but i, like you earned my rs4 and for now i aint selling just cos they want it.

my pal never seen his car since tho but it did him a bit of a favour he says.

glad your ok, its easy to forget just what sort of jealous scum is actually out there and become complacent isnt it? chin up pal.

This post thought provoking. The reality is that the people who come for these cars are not jealous scum for they leave expensive stuff alone, but people who appreciate what the RS4 is all about.

i reckon most people know what an rs4 is and anyone who thinks they have the right to enter your house uninvited while you are in bed to steal your car for fun or any other means is scum and very probably jealous as they obviously cant afford their own.

I hate hearing these things. Luckily you all are safe. Same thing happened to me one year ago. Arrived home and 2 guys burst out of the bedroom, down the stairs, jumped in the car and gone. Police choppers and the works. Had no car for 2 weeks, just a Milltek exhaust that I had recently taken off the car! Got the car back without a scratch tho - after the crims had put it to good use in a hold up where they made off with €40K! I asked myself the same question about hanging onto the car - it was the police detective who actually persuaded me that if you want a car like this don't let these effin b@$tards put you off! Best thing you can do is beef up your home security and use a few devices that will make someone think twice about breaking in and hope that they will pass on by and move onto another easier target. I have no garage so I use a Disklok full face steering lock every night that is very visible and lash a clamp on one of the wheels if I am away for an extended time. You are just looking to throw a few things in the way of these scum. Hope the family are not too shook up. Good luck.

To those who asked where in the Country I am, Northwest

Yes the car was fitted with a tracking system. Yes the house alarm was set and working with my family and I in bed asleep. No the house alarm did not sound.

Police still have the car, I've not seen it yet, will let you know once I know more

Thanks for all your kinds words... nice to know there are people out there with similar thoughts and feelings to me.

My thoughts on a few of the posts..... I honestly think a diskloc (which I have but tend not to fit when at home as have always felt it is a safe area) will not and would not on this occasion have made any real difference, might slow them down for a few mins / secs while they figure out which key it is they need from the entire set they took from your house!

Same goes for a Rhino post or any other device with a key as they will have them all..

They think they had been outside my house dismanteling the window for around half an hour. Extra few mins to figure ut which key is which?

Only true way to stop them IMO would be to imobilise the car in such a way as they have to think about what you've done and maybe they don't figure it out.

A week ago today a police car stopped as i was getting out of my car to say be careful gangs are after RS4's He went on to tell me the week before two men knocked on the door of a house with a RS4 parked on the drive. They assaulted the man that answered the door (owner of car) and demanded the keys to the car. His wife and two young children were in at the time! I live and work in what is considered to be a good area. They wanted the car for a ram raid.

Hi,

I have a REVO SPS switch that allows you to put the car in anti-theft mode. You turn the switch on the unit to the anti-theft setting, plug it in to the ODB port in the car and 2 seconds later the car will start but only idle no matter what you do with the throttle. There's nothing anyone can do about it unless they have the SPS switch. I've tried driving with it enabled and it's very weird :)

The only down side is that you need a REVO remap to use it.
I don't actually use the facillity unless I'm away on holiday and leaving the car for a while. Mind you I have an S4, so not quite as nickable as the RS4.

Worth a thought though.

Regards, Chris.

The Revo SPS sounds ideal - I'm almost tempted for the anti theft element but never had good Revo experience on previous cars.

Just to maybe put a positive spin on an unhappy subject for all of us with our carbon caked.... leaky DRC... 300bhp cars......

The Police emphasised to me that the main reason these cars get taken is because real world, point to point......they are very, very fast and usually require a Police helicopter to stand a good chance of being caught.
Some of them had been sent over to Ingolstadt to learn more about them.

have been told this recently too, maybe a pink wrap then

We need to convince them that the M3 is a better proposition overall.

That's what these folks are saying.

John they would probable steal your dog and leave the car after all the problems you have had with it!! I do hope it will continue to run without trouble now. I do know someone who had 2 dobbermans which were stolen nothing else was taken.
