OK now I could be wrong but I think the Ceramics came in 2 sizes, one for 18'' wheels the other for 19'' wheels. maybe you have the other other, however cant see that effecting the hub circumference.

RS4 Ceramic Brakes-Rotors don't fit

Post by paku » Thu Jan 21, 2010 6:21 pm

The CD-ROM was very helpful. Unfortunately, they are the wrong discs (part number 4E0 615 301 AA/4E0 615 302C). I'm guessing they are for the A8/S8. Or maybe what Sonny posted is correct? Can anyone verify this?

Will have to go a different route and will keep everybody posted. Thanks.

sorry to hear this, I have been wondering how you have been getting on, did you purchase the discs new from Audi or second hand, any way of exchanging them?

RS4 Ceramic Brakes-Rotors don't fit

Post by paku » Thu Jan 21, 2010 6:59 pm

I received the brake set from a friend overseas. It came off of a wrecked Audi, not an RS4 apparently.

I am still trying to get a set for the RS4, the main reason being the weight savings. We track the car quite frequently and it does very well but the weight is fairly evident going throught corners. That is also the reason we are trying to acquire the OEM Euro seats.

Thanks for the concern. I'll post any updates.

OK yes it is a major weight saving, and most ppl will rip some ones arm off if they had a set of ceramics up for sale lol best of luck.

could you please explain how to do it with Vag-com ?
coding for standard rotors is 0004533

"Once fitted the ABS control will need to be re-coded so it knows ceramic brakes are fitted. This can only be carried out at an Audi centre."

This is what my audi Tech said. so not sure if he means VAG-COM. I will have to ask him when he goes back to work.

Anto I sent you mail already, but for anyone else you wants to carry out this conversion coding is:

0004533 Stock Rotors
0004534 Ceramic Rotors

RS4 Ceramic Brakes-Rotors don't fit

Post by paku » Wed Feb 03, 2010 4:16 pm

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. Upgrade to new operating system wasn't very smooth so my computer has been down. I usually don't like to bad-mouth anybody, but let's just say the name starts with "W" and ends with "7".

Here are the coding instructions from the CD-ROM:

Coding
Possible ESP versions:
Steel Brakes
Brakes in airbag adaptation channel 51: 22
ESP version: 4533
Ceramic Brakes
Brakes in airbag adaptation channel 51: 20
ESP version: 4534

Hope this helps.

Could it be as simple as replacing the Hat to get the correct offset??
