First of all, I'd like to introduce myself because I'm a new member posting for my first time. I live in South Florida and drive a 2008 RS4 (obviously, because I'm posting in this forum). I have 14k miles on this wonderful car and I have had no issues until now.
I noticed about 3 weeks ago that suddendly when I drive over a speed bump, pot hole, small dip in the road, etc. that a loud knocking noise is present. That sounds appears to be coming from underneath the passenger seat and it sounds like something is loose in the under carriage or that a wheel is about to fall off. This occurs while driving at any speed although I can hear it more prominently when driving very slowly.
I've scoured this forum so I'm aware of the problem you guys have talked about with the "clunking noise" at "full - lock" and all the associated posts. However, I think this problem is different because it has nothing to do with steering and doesn't present itself unless the suspension is compressed (again, when driving over a bump). Has anyone heard of, or experienced, a similar issue?
Thanks
"Clunking" issue not associated with full-lock/oth
We'll find out shortly. I spoke with the service rep today and he said he isn't familar with the DRC problem everyone keeps complaining about. He also said that if it was a DRC issue then I would definitely notice the stance and feel of the car would change. I'm not noticing that as much as I am the sheer noise so maybe you're right.
