Good Morning

Post by johninspain » Sat Jan 02, 2010 1:15 pm

Time is drawing on, ticking buyand witrh every min i get more and more excited about my the arrival of my car !

Now ive had 997 turbos, 996 turbos, etc etc Never had a Audi in my life (few M3´s though)

The spec of my new one

Carbon Breaks
Daylight driving lights
comeing home function
rain sensers
auto mirror
double glazeing
pluss more

My questions are what are the daylight lights ? Could you not just switch on your lights ?

What are allo the other things like traction contreloll called on the car ?

What to swithch on and off when driveing hard etc ?

As for the breaks, do they run on standared pads ? i bloomin hope so !

What milage for a cam belt change ? rough price ?

are they on electronic diffs and can i lock them ?

Cheers, i will probly think of more as the day progresses !

Have a look at the downloads section. You will find the original brochures there that will answer many of your questions.

1 Daytime running lights can be switch on and off down by the light switch, its separate from the main light switch so its up to you to if you want them on.
2 Traction controll is the ESP button on the dash and has two settings, half off then fully off
3 I personally dont switch anything off when driving hard
4 No cambelt, chain driven so i was told.
might be wrong but hope this helps. Peter

I'm sure the RS4 has a cambelt.
I remember seeing a post on here sometime ago re a price from an Audi dealer for the belt to get changed.

Defo camchain - the basic layout of the engine is the same as other Audi 4.2s - but it didn't fit in the $A4 so the cut the front bit (with timing belt) off and chucked a chain on behind the engine (roughly behind your stereo if you know what I mean)
