The RS4 wide profile tyres like any wide tyre are prone to aqua-planing, I tried to follow a small van last Sunday in heavy rain and I had to let him go, there not good hitting standing water

That sure looks like a mess, and glad your are OK. I hope they sort the bendy lamp posts out soon.

hope you have a speedy recovery and can soon be enjoying a V8 again soon.

That's very brave of you to tell your story in what was a horrific accident.

I think we will all now think twice next time we are driving in such weather.

Wow. I can only mirror the thoughts already stated. Your positivity is an inspiration and your story should act as a reminder to all about the dangers that can face us on the roads.

that is very scary....can't believe the car got ripped apart like that.

glad your ok tho. I think I will take it easier in the rain from now on..


BTW dont get an RS5. Get an R8! :D

Sonny - I'll have to tested by a driving standards group to see if I can drive manuals. Below knee (left) amputees can normally drive manuals. I'd like to be able to drive manuals incase I hire a car/get courtesy car when my car is in the garage.

Psg001 - I tried the R8 but it wasn't a practical car. I need a bigger car so when or if I decide to breed I don't have to sell my car and buy something sesnsible (boo). Am quite tempted with the RS4 avants too :)

I'm just glad that so many RS4 owners can see what happens when the sh*t hits the fan in wet conditions. Hope you all slow down a bit when it's really wet

At the back of everyone's mind, we all know the risks of driving hard in the wet. While I'm sure it's absolutely no consolation to you, I for one, will be thinking twice before taking risks in the wet and the upcoming icey conditions.

Laura - thanks so much for posting this - both for making me think again in the wet, and for realising how I need to shake off my negative attitude to everything! Let us know when you get the new car...
