Resetting the Service Indicator

Post by wannabe024 » Fri Sep 18, 2009 12:27 pm

Hi all,

Had my oil changed by APS and they reset my service indicator after an oil change and general once over. My fault because I didn't make it clear that I didn't want them to.

However, the car was on the Audi long-life servicing which I was going to use to judge the next service. Is there some way I can go back to the previous setting, which gave me another 4000 miles or so? It's currently showing 17000 miles until the next service.

Thanks

Don't think so, I would also think twice about running these cars on variable servicing, the oil can't cope with up to 20k between changes ( there is strong evidence to suggest it can't cope with 6k!)

Thanks.

I've taken the advice on this forum and I'm changing oil more often than that (hence the visit to APS), but for the rest of the servicing I'm following the variable service schedule.

I guess I'll have to go and visit Audi with my tail between my legs.
