Hello

Post by PJI » Thu Sep 17, 2009 9:14 am

Hi Everyone

Just PX'ed my 911 for a 2008 Sprint blue with child friendly silver leather RS4 Avant.

Great car been on a hoon to the Spa grand prix mixed in with a quick trip to the Ring already and was very impressed.

Couple of questions. My car does not have the bucket seats but when you press the sport button the seat bolsters do not change. I cant find a sport setting within the computer menu to turn them on or off! Was this a option? Secondly when you reverse you can hardly hear the park distance beep. The front is ok. Had a brief discussion with Sutton Audi to be told that they could move the speaker! I tried to say why would Audi fit in in the wrong place in the first place but to be honest gave up with trying to talk to her!

Any advise would be gratefully received.

Porsche to RS4. That sounds familiar!

Not sure about the seats, but my parking sensors were plenty loud enough and indipendent from the stereo. Get the dealer to check it again.

If you've not got the bucket seats then the bolsters don't change. Personally and this is really is a personal comment, I find the ‘normal’ seats more comfortable. I had a couple of RS4 with buckets on hire for a while and found them quite uncomfortable on any kind of distance.

I don’t notice any difference between the front and the read parking sensor volume……both seem too quiet when parking so I always need to turn the radio down….must be getting old!

Only the bucket seats have inflatable side bolsters.

Parking sensor volume - found something in the menus recently but can't remember if it was my car or the wife's A6.

Front and rear parking sensor volume and frequency can be easily adjusted with VAG-COM - I've made mine as loud as possible and changed the frequencies so that they are more different, which makes reversing into my narrow drive so much easier.

Think someone must've done this with mine - they are very different and loud enough to hear in any situation.

God, I'm glad I know how to turn them down, mine are so loud I have to turn them off!! I am frequently accused of being mental by my other half when I'm shouting at the car to be quiet when reversing!

(doesn't help that the front number plate blank means that the front sensors beep constantly in reverse!!)

On a side note, I love the buckets and, with a bad back, actaully find them more comfortable than the normal seats. I had an S3 before with the same seats and found myself shuffling and stretching on long journeys..

Enjoy the car!!

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Must admit i was after a car with the buckets but these sport seats are the most comfortable seats i have had in a long time.
