Hi Laura,

Its fantastic to hear from you. I really should have PM'd you to see how you were doing but wasn't sure if you would be back on here. Information about how you were following your accident has been pretty limited. Sorry to hear about your injuries and wish you all the best with your recovery. Hope to see you back on the road in the mornings sometime soon.

Iain

Hey buddy, much respect.

How about a 997 C4S, engines in the wrong place but it's a 911 and a hunkered down, wide bodied one at that.

I went from rs4 to gen 2 C4s and love it. I miss the sound of a v8 but I had the sports exhaust fitted last week and it sounds very rorty.
The interior is a nice place to be as all the door cards and dash are leather.
Grip is phenominal and beleive it or not is a far nicer cruiser than my old ss+ saloon plus it has pasm so I can firm it up when needed. The gen 2 engines seem to have much better mid range than the gen 1 cars.
I can also get my 9 week old son in the back, wife in the front and a pushchair under the bonnet with enough room for an overnight bag and the rear drivers side seat free so practical too.
Good luck and I sincerely hope you heal both mentally and physically very soon if you have not already done so. Buying a new car certainly is a great pick me up. :)

Hi Laura, really very sorry to hear about your accident - personally, I would go for the biggest fastest car I could find... GTR? ;) I honour your courage!

Fook man that's awful news and I hope that you really do make a good recovery (as best you can without a limb!). You are a brave man getting back behind the wheel and I'm amazed at some of the posters initially, as if losing a Limb is normal!!!! WTF?

Laura - Can't believe you're posting so soon. I saw the fire engine on its way to what turns out to have been your accident - so sorry you were badly hurt, but delighted you're thinking about getting back on the road again.

I had a tip S4 V8 with the flappy paddles before the RS, which was pretty good all round. The new S4 is supposed to have a peach of an engine - haven't driven it though.

Tell us what you end up with and I'll look out for you at the Bridge of Dee again - I gave you a wave a couple of weeks ago as requested in IainS4's message trail of a while back. I'm in the Sprint Blue avant at his office. All the best.

So sorry to hear of your accident and injuries but very pleased you're being so positive. What car next, hmm, tough one. RS6 is said to provide minimal feedback; R8? Early ones are getting there price- wise.

Hi Laura, sorry to hear about your accident. I did hear the weather last week was horrendous back in the deen. I still love my RS6 as its even more practical than the RS4. Wouldn't say no to a C63 AMG as a replacement once the prices come down a bit though.

Thanks for that guys.

Yes I'm female and have had the car since new. Still in hospital and was awake last night so thought I'd post something. Broke my other leg so got to wait until it's ready to support my weight before looking at prosthetic limbs. I reckon it'll be next year till I'll be behind a wheel again. Also will see if this gap insurance pays out...

Details of my crash are below.

in answer to one question I think the seats played a huge part in keeping me in. I would prefer 4wd so if I could go with another rs4 using a limb for the clutch I'd be delighted

Sorry to hear about your news Laura. There was some horrible rain recently in Aberdeen. Was it just at Bridge of Dee near the Shell station? I saw the police had blocked the road on the way to work.

Glad you're okay and hopefully we'll see you back in an RS4 or something equally as nice in Aberdeen. Having just moved from RWD to 4WD I'd say stick to a 4WD. Like someone else said treat yourself to a GTR! :)

Take care.

Wow love your attitude "what to get next" and i dont blame you,my pal suffered the same type of injury on a motorcycle,he now rides again and drives a manual scooby!! He lives in switzeland and his false limb is an amazing piece of kit compared to the nhs ones he initially had so dont be too worried about the nhs ones theres much better out there, you wouldnt know he has one until he tackles stairs, even then he is only slightly slower,he does everything he ever did it just takes a wee bit of getting used to but with your fantastic attitude im sure you will too
