If price wasn't an issue, which tyre would you opt for?

Today's price in COSTCO for PS2's in 255 35 ZR19 was £293.46 each, fully inclusive of fitting and nitrogen filled.

Newcastle upon Tyne but willing to travel for a bargain and a meet with fellow RS4 owners. Plus have an Avant so 4 tyres would go in the back no problem.

That's still £1173.84, are they really £573.84 (96%) better than F1's or Sessanta's?

You have to have them on there for ~500 miles before you appreciate how good the tyre is...

I was shocked when moving to the F1 from the P-Zero...until the release agent wore off and I got down to the proper compound.

My Secret Santas (Vredestein Sessantas) are shot after 5000 miles. Not as hard as the F1's so in terms of value for money, not as good as the F1's...IMHO.

For £500 I'd be interested in another set of F1's too!
My Sessanta's are holding up a little better and now having had the balanced on a Hunter GSP9700 feel better too, but when pushing them they do squeel a lot more than the F1's and have more road noise.

For the sake of an extra £10 per tyre I'll be going back to F1's but if djt's mate would be willing to sort a few of us out then maybe I'll be no worse off.

Did you have them force matched? If so, what was the force range given by the hunter? Mine were 120nm to 180nm

If anybody is serious about buying a set of tyres, PM me when you are ready to buy them and let me know your location and when you require them, it will take me about a week to get them for you so don't leave it too late and you will be looking at about £550 for 4 of the F1's.

Cheers

Dan, is there a time limit on this? I'm only 6k miles through my Sessantas so I am thinking New Year before I need to buy. Is that too far away?

I still have my PS2's from factory, 16,500 hard miles and they still have 3mm of tread on the front and 4mm on the back. just mental how good they are on wear as well as being such a good performance tyre. Money no object I wouldnt touch anything else really.
