Prices more than holding up?

Post by chemical-ali » Thu Aug 20, 2009 11:59 pm

Just had a sniff round a BMW dealer - not the same as before; I am never going back there Rob! Anyhow, looking at a new car I offered my existing as part ex. They offered me more than I was hoping to get private! Around 28k for a 2006 34k miler. It shocked me as Audi offered me 26k 10 months ago on an S5 part ex!!!

Are RS4's really sought after all of a sudden?

I gave them my reg number and milage, so they have right car. Maybee prices are going up!

maybe they are trying to rape you on the other end and wont give you much of a discount on the new ride. thats usually how it works.

They either give you exactly what you want for your car and only take a little off the new one or give you nothing for your car and majorly discount the new car.

I hate that

They have firmed up since the back end of last year for sure, but as others have said its whats in the other car and how they manipulate the figures, there are many behind the scenes factors ie targets etc if your deal gets them a bonus for shifting the majic number that week or month you will get a cracker of a deal. But overall yes b7s are in hot demand in the right spec/mileage and have been going up in value earlier this year
