Track day noise limits - any issues with standard B7?

Looking at booking first track session with my B7 Avant. Has anyone had any issues with noise limits or know what kind of Db gets recorded?
Presumably do the test with the magic flaps closed?

No, you'll have no probs whatsoever, and have the S button on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll have a great time, but make sure your oil is topped up and check your brake discs, pads have plenty wear left as they get hammered and be prepared to maybe fit one or more new tyres afterwards !!

Which track you going to ?

Dr. Palmer's back yard. Tyres are nearing the end of their life anyway, so good excuse to go.

Would suggest you do 20 minute (max) sessions and try and go out, if possible, when the track is quiet on your first track day and make sure you fill up at the nearest garage to the circuit.
Empty your car of everything not essential.

see if they have instructor sessions and have one, is like £15-20 for 20 mins. Well worth it, I had one when I went to Spa in the R32. Amazing how early I was braking!

I'm curious if a milltek non-res would be acceptable on a track day with its noise levels. Had a milltek non-res on the R32 which was fairly loud but no bother with that, my RS4 exhaust is quieter than the R32 non res milltek so you should be fine noise wise. Enjoy!

Thanks for advice guys. I've done a couple of airfield driving ferrari/lambo/porsche type days and always got loads out of having an instructor on hand, so had booked one for this session too. Sure I'll have to recalibrate how I'd normally drive, particularly around braking as I probably only ever use 50-75% braking effort on the road.
Tyre pressures and oil top up before I go, something really chilled out on the SD cards for the way home and a call to e-tyres in the morning methinks.

You'll be fine on track with your RS4 regarding noise. I had a full exhausrt and race cat set up on my old S4 V8 and blasted it around Croft which has one of the tightest noise emissions limits around because of the bloody locals comlaining about noise form the circuit and it was nowere near the decibel limit.

rAudiguy's decatted car might get near the limit but no way for a standard one. Also, when you are finished your session leave your car in gear with engine off and handbrake off when parked up to allow the discs to cool otherwise you'll warp them leaving the handbrake on. That is after at least one lap run down where you should limit your brake usage to a minimum.

Brilliant evening in the sunshine at the Autodrome. Standing noise test showed up at 86db so no issues at all. She worked like a charm, although towards the end of the session the rapidly wilting front tyres brought out a lot more understeer and squirming. Brilliant range of machinery from Reynard special through usual suspect scoobies, 911s, assorted beemers to a supercharged Atom, a tail happy SKyline R34, an SL with what sounded like a messcherschmidt under it's bonnet and a 15 year old E class estate!

what PSI did you got for in your tyres?

Dr Palmers back yard? did you do the Don Pamler car control course?

Only tweaked them up slightly to 39psi all round. Dr Palmer as in Palmer Sport. It was at the Bedford Autodrome...
