Probably a bloody good idea....at the time spare sets of 19" RS4 rims didn't seem to be that expensive so I got a set, but the rubber you can get for them for the purposes of "tracking" the car is few and far between.I think though if I do track the RS I'll probably buy a set of 18's with some tyres that didn't cost £300.00 each on them!
The 275 thing started because of a lack of availability in the 255 size and a desire to try the F1 asymmetric without having to pay Michelin prices.
I think I remember calculating the difference in rolling circumference between a new 255/35 and a new 275/30 was less than the difference between a new 255/35 and a worn 255/35, so why not?
The move was then justified by the "better rim protection" argument although I never really bought that with the tyre combo I had...I've managed not to scrape my rims running either size...
I have moved back to 255's just because Audi moaned about it.
Not withstanding my comments about cosmetics, I do think the car looks slightly more aggressive spaced out.
