Unfortunately I was hugely dissapointed. Whilst on smooth roads the car felt good as soon as you got on any rough surface (which, lets face it isn't challenging in the UK) the scuttle shake on the car was awful with judders passing through the car at the smallest pothole or bump. This was just amplified if "making progress" through a corner while hitting said bump with the whole car shaking and quite distracting.
I would try another example to make a definitive choice. There is no way mine is as bad as that, could be something as simple as tyre pressures not being set up correctly. You have to accept that 4 seater convertibles are never going to be as stable as 2 seater convertibles or saloons, but the scuttle shake should not be as obvious over pot holes, in fact only if I am mega pressing on through poor surfaces does the drive become interesting.......... a bit of who's going to back out first...me or the car

Certainly not critising, but dont forget you have come from one of the best balanced cars (cs2) to a 4 seater monster, theres going to be some difference

And my final support in favour of the cab, its got to be the best 4 seater choice this side of a Bentley GTC (and I've had 4 different cabs over time!)

Good luck with your hunt :beerchug:

200 kg is a big difference. Get 3 of your mates (or in my case two fat ba**ard mates) in the car (not the aVANt) and press on - you do notice a difference whether its cornering, acceleration or most importantly, braking.

I was surprised how little scuttle shake was apparent in the RS4 cab, with the roof up or down it felt like a very well built and strong car.

I bought mine at Christmas and have loved the bettering weather, any excuse to get the top down and, yes, I am a total poser. Looking at it the other way though, GruppeM and Miltek with the roof down sounds amazing and you really get a sense of speed!!

Did you check the DRC for leaks as this can affect the ride?

All in all, if you want a fast cabriolet then I would go for this, easily over the M3, despite what Clarkson says, I still think M3s have that pikey association which you just don't get with the Audi. I wanted a bigger cabrio as this is a daily and I need ti get my golf clubs in the back!

Given that it almost never rains where I live, and the fact that law enforcement has put up fixed radars every 500m or less on the main highway, and sprinkled mobile cameras all over the city and suburbs, the cab makes an attractive proposition since I enjoy the AWD grip of quattro with the high-revving V8. Would be happy to swop, if only there was an RS4 Cabrio here in Dubai :(

I did check out the new m3 cab, as an alternative, but there is no useable boot space when the roof is down, the whole of the metal peace takes any usable space up!

I moved from a Jag XKR (convertible) to RS4 Cab and I noticed the wobble and wondered why (the XKR doesn't have it). My mechanic, and friend, has worked on both cars and was surpried, so he had a closer look. It turns out the DRC is shot (both right side shocks are leaking). If you like the Cab, check the shocks, you might find something's wrong.

So why do I own a cab... Number 1, I'm from Australia, 2. Going to a concert is better than listening to a CD, and the Cab is the concert. Roof down, blue sky, hill climb, exhaust roar... wow. Am I a poser... probably to someone that doesn't own a Cab, but I bet that same person wants a drive in it :D

Well said!

I am literally counting the minutes to 5.30 so I can get in my cab, put my foot down and feel the sun on my face!

If I look smug, it's because I am!

got to love this weather... got to love the sport button!!!
my cab is running soooo sweet at the moment, think its to do with the fact that the engine can get up to temperature quicker due to the warm weather, which means mucho fun :rocker:

That's why Britain is the biggest seller of cabriolets in Europe !
Use mine regularly from March to November but have even seen people with roof down in December, January and February( thats too posy for me ). Must be the fact that I live in the English Riviera and balmy West Country.

Also remember you would have to be crazy to have a Cab in a hot country, places near the med or middle eastern countries you would not be able to give a cab away, think northern European countries are best suited to Cabs. IMHO
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
