I spent weeks/even months on picking a car - I looked though figures and stats, what I needed (4doors), tried all likely cars (including jag) but ended up with the rs4.
(i did think about the focus RS but then remembered it rains in the uk - not many mag test done in the wet yet and I need a all weather car)

Drove it in the wet and dry and beyond belief in both situations. The engine noises are something else , the crackles and pops are unbelieveable, I know it hasnt got the V8 rumble but to drive a car like you are on a playstation game is brilliant. I honestly think I will have fun in this car. Already Jam Motorsport do a 360 bhp upgrade for £2,500

& you're still a child at heart

If I was to buy one - it would certainly be Ultimate Green as well :thumb:

Let me know when you've got it Jezz & we'll meet up...

I'm not sure about having it chipped tho' - I'd definitely get another set of rims with some semi-slicks - be as quick as the R26R round the Ring then & pass most cars...

I'm looking at

Lambo gallardo
Ferrari 430
Ferrari 612

no kids, no pets and totally tax deductible tells me i should go mental.
Did consider a continental GT but drove it and the salesman said "the steering is really direct isn't it" at which point I thought wow this steering isnt direct at all.

It's too dull, I think it looks dull and the interior is terminally dull. It's like a half caste supercar. Ive driven the R8 v8 quite a bit and it just doesn't float my boat. I love the idea of a Ferrari but one of the best things about the RS4 is it's sure footedness in the wet which pushes me towards the Lambo or 997T, having said that Lambos & Porsches are like arseholes in Aberdeen - everyone has one. I might just keep The Panther since on the roads round here none of those cars will really put it under pressure, well not 60k worth on top. Usually I know exactly what I want like when I swapped my C4S for the RS but this time nothing is really GRABBING me.

The car will be a handful in the wet when driven hard and with 60 extra bhp...forget it...

Lets face it traction = 4wd/# of wheels

In the RS4 that is 100bhp odd

In the std RS focus you are up around 150bhp wheel

But thsat is not the whole story, in the 4wd you have double the footprint to apply that power so in actual fact the actual traction is approx 4 times higher than a 2wd. Is the Focus chassis that good to make up the difference?

Ford might say yes - I reckon no!

Fifthgear tried one and there was various mention of problems getting power down (in the dry) - the Evo they compared it with was much better (RS was still very fast though)
