Chrissyr32, you're somewhere in Teesside right? My office is just down the road from Teesside Audi, if you want to have a listen at what it is like before committing drop me a PM.

It depends on what you seek from a Milltek, this gives better exhaust gas flow and different note whereas a Milltek would give more noise and the same gains but is 6 times more expensive for a valved system. A bit difficult to compare really, I would have perhaps said an intermediate step for those who want to keep their OEM system but want a little more sound and better power pick up than OEM.

this seems like a no-brainer given the costs! Would there be any warranty issues?

Need to bear in mind that you will be slicing up your oem system though, and can't just pop it back on if you want/need to, you can get it welded back together I guess.

oh! thought the section being replaced was a bolt on/off job! What bits need cutting and what remains uncut?

UNI555 is right, it does require cutting of the OEM system as cat back the OEM system is 1 piece. However if you ever did want to fit it back together you could by either welding or clamping as seen in the photos. Far easier job to do that trying to refit an entire cat back system.

P_G hows the exhaust, I'm still toying with this mod, but it is a huge commitment to have your OEM pipes cut!

Are you happy you did the mod, and also will you have any problems come MOT time with the Lambada emissions?

I would't worry about cutting your standard pipe, there are always standard exhaust up for sale on ebay!

Cost circa £300 fitted.
Isnt backpressure required with NA?

The x-pipe is great. There can be a bit of drone when the car is warming up but then I can use the OEM valves to cut this out. Once up to temperature the sound is great, 2-3500rpm it is GM LS" V8, 3500 rpm plus it then develops and nice V8 rasp to it as well and when you lift off the throttle the exhaust pops. Because of its positioning, the lambda sensors are in front of the x-pipe section so no issues there.

AAS still have the template on their jig so they can fabricate it and send it to you with fitting lamps or you can visit them. And as said there are plenty of RS4 exhausts on E-Bay from £50 upward or IIRC can replace and weld a new pipe section similar to OEM if you want to change back.

caldy had his camcorder last weekend and took some sound clips, I'm hoping they came out OK for him to share as his car, also prep'ed by AAS with full system and 200 cell cats non valved sounds awesome.
