Distorted/Corroded Brake Discs - covered under warranty?
so if you did have your disc replaced, would it be worth while NOT to put the OEM pads on and go for a aftermarket brand due to the pics cuasing further damage?..what cuased the warping of the discs, day to day driving or driving hard?
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
Can someone pls give me more details on the RS4 Charter for replacing brake discs. I went to Audi West London, and they did not replace the discs, neither did AUDI UK approve as West London Audi told them that there were blue marks on my discs, which were not.
I am just thinking what next steps to take at the moment.

As a side issue to this, I just rotated my wheels today as the rears have a good bit more tread on them than the fronts and decided to clean out the crossdrilled holes on both front discs. Whilst the offside one I could get a cotton bud to go straight through from the outside through both holes, on the nearside disc some of the inndermost holes near the inner edge of the disc I could get my cotton bud through but not all the way through, so the inner surface crossdrilled holes are clogged. What do people clean them out with as I tried forcing a cotton bud through which did not work (snapped it!) and then tried softening the deposits in the holes with Zymol wash but no success. Coincidentally I have noticed it is this corner I am getting some judder from, hence why I decided to de coke the holes.
Any advice? I wonder if the holes clogging up and the disc not having their space to expand into when hot / brake dust deposits expanding in the holes will warp the disc?

Ah, I was assuming that the holes on the inner face are in line with those on the outer face - obviously they aren't! I will probably find this out for myself later today as I will be doing mine!P_G wrote:Hmm, hard to get access to given it is on the inside unless I take the disk off. I may try again over the weekend.
they are, I used a long thin allen key, the short end was a good handle when wrapped in tape, I jetwashed the discs to soften the deposits first. Agreed the holes are woefully small, my GT3RS has Alcons on which has crescent moon shaped indents in as opposed to the OEM holes, which just crack!UNI555 wrote:Ah, I was assuming that the holes on the inner face are in line with those on the outer face - obviously they aren't! What is the preferred upgrade disc/pad for the RS4? My fronts are squealing and the discs have blueish/black corrosion around the holes, the car has 10k on it and the pads were 20% worn at the 8500 mile service, this would indicate a relatively easy life. Should I be asking Audi to look at these under the charter for replacement?
TIA
As poon said they are but it is hard to tell if you are spot on the inner hole by pushing a drill bit through the outer one, especially when the inner one is completely clogged. I don't want to be drilling new holes in the inner disk next to the original ones!
I have regularly jet washed my front and rear disks but the accumulation still exists.
