Not really a big issue more a bit of a minor frustration but does anyone else get crap radio reception in their RS4?
I have several radio stations stored in the memory but they are quite often unavailable. I have tried different settings but no joy.
Anyone else have problems, I'm about to come out of warranty so will report this and drop it in for the dealer to take a look at if no one else seems to have an issue.
Cheers guys

RE: Poor radio reception
The reception in my Avant is excellent. Obviously the reception changes as you drive around, and from day to day due to atmospherics, but it's certainly as good as the other cars I've had, and considerably better than many.
Perhaps your aerial connection is loose?

RE: Poor radio reception
Hi There
I have the same issue, what I found out is that when the signal strength is weak then the station automatically greys out and no longer comes back online even though the reception signal has increased.
I have driven past the same spot on the A4 and I can hear the signal loss and Concert radio on the A4 actually beeps and gets louder, if you press the preset for the station again it does pick it up after the black-spot.
I dont think its to do with lose antenna cable, its just the software on the radio is not good at self-correction.
The trick or workaround is to press something else, ie Nav, then press the Radio and you will see the station again lit up and have to press it again to get back on to the station.

Re: RE: Poor radio reception
Second that. The AF (Alternate Frequency) algorithm in the RNS-E doesn't seem to work properly. Several times when I'm driving away from home the local stations get weaker and weaker, but selecting another station and then re-selecting the original restores a strong signal as the alternate frequency is selected - this is supposed to be automatic based on signal strength but it doesn't seem to work right.sachi wrote:I dont think its to do with lose antenna cable, its just the software on the radio is not good at self-correction.
Thanks
Thanks for the replies I'll give it a go changing to an alternate function then back to radio

Re: Thanks
Just change the radio channel - that's what I said works for me.Krode wrote:Thanks for the replies I'll give it a go changing to an alternate function then back to radio
So when I have this problem with BBC Radio Solent, I retune to Radio 2, then tune back to Radio Solent and it's fine.
