Trouble with Clutch

Post by Denyy_787 » Tue Apr 14, 2009 8:51 pm

Hello Folks!

Just checking how many of you have had trouble with their clutch and have had hydraulic hose pipe changed.

Kind of weird, I went to the shop this morning, left my car, (couldn't change anymore, clutch didn't allow me to do it, drove in third gear for miles); obviously once the the guy at Audi tried the car it was just fine. :(

Anyhow, he called me afterwards and he said he was going to replace the above first, then we'd have gone from there.

I'm just trying to find out if you guys in uk have had Audi honoured this cost and if so is there anything in writing?

Being Audi represented and imported by Autogerma (Italy), it's always a mess when you deal with these stuff especially when is related to warranty and bu....hit!

Thanks for your help and for sharing.

Daniele

Had mine done under warranty, no hassle whatsoever!

Its a common problem and I am sure many on here have had it done already.. as far as writing is concerned - I have the service schedule if that helps?

I had mine in to be looked at and they told me it was normal for it to be stiff selecting gears when cold... mine tends to be ok when warmed up

In the end they're trying to replace the f....ing hose pipe and during the process I was told that the cost would have been around 600 euro and that they wouldn't cover it.

Anything you guys have in writing that could help....it's a factory defect, isn't it?

Had trouble selecting gears from cold. Could not get 1st or 2nd, reverse also a problem. Watford looked at it. Replaced clutch and pipe. Was good for about 2 months then went back to difficult to select from cold. Took the car to Camberley. They found the input shaft full of rust. Cleaned and greased, refitted. Car has been perfect for last 4 months.

I'm looking for this TSB myself -- I just need the correct part number so I can get my Audi specialist to do the replacement. Is it just a clutch line, or is it a replacement for something bigger?
