DRC issue finally resolved?

Post by WBRS4 » Tue Apr 07, 2009 5:06 pm

I know there are plentiful topics about the failure of DRC on these RS4 cars but I havent had the time to read all of them so I thought Id share this with you chaps

found this on the web

"Just got a letter in the Mail from Volkswagen of America, Inc./Audi of America, Inc. The letter clearly states that VW/Audi finished developing and testing improved shock absorbers and are in the process of developing the necessary parts to provide all RS6 customers in early August. I have called my dealer and they informed me that the RS4 is included in this replacement. The service will replace all four shocks and validate the DRC System. All at no cost to the customer. Also included was a claim form. This form is to get reimbursement for your payment if you have already paid to have the shocks repaired or replaced. Contact Audi for more info. Spread the word.

Mines going in on Thursday for the DRC issue - a first time for me. Ive got an audi mobile tech coming out tomorrow to check what parts are required so will enquire then and report back over the next few days.
Everyone is unique, just like you and me.

Absolutely! The DRC + the FSi oil issue have really tainted my opinion of VAG. Whatever happened to Right First Time and Quality First? I had less problems with my Astra VXR than this thing...okay not strictly true as the turbo packed in after only 10,000 miles. Guess its just the nature of the auto industry these days. Throw the thing out before testing is concluded to stay one step ahead of your competitor, slap on a 7 year 'limited' warranty then sort things out later after revenues have been received.

Why did we ever sell our little reliable Fiesta? Only saw the dealer once and that was to pick the thing up!

I would be soooo happy about this as i was planning to ditch the car after 3 years cause of this.

I had a feeling it would probably affect the value of the vehicle tooo

RS6 owners in the States have gotten the 'letter'
so far there is no official word on the RS4...here's hoping...mine seems to be leaking...
