Tracking down a RS4

it is..... but mine has done 20k and is a couple of months shy of 3 years old.... but from my experience my rs4 runs like <beep>, it does not get enough of a run, and looking at that thread on the janked up inlet manifold it seems like the ones that do not get used/ short runs and hence low average mileage should that really be what your looking for?? so maybe the likes of p-g, petroldave,etc... who have done average and above mileage there engines might be better for it? one other point a member on here just sold an 06 that had done 86000 miles for 23.5 odd grand what would you get for the same car that had done 30000 miles... 27k? defo worth driving it than staring at it on both counts me thinks... p-g it will be interesting to see what yours shows at on the RR.

Lat August, I was offered between 35K and 39k for an 07/57 Avant with 5000 miles and all the toys from both Audi and Specialist dealers. I ended up selling privately for 41K. They were depreciating at 1,500 - 2,000 per month and therefore, the same car is worth approx 30 - 32k (trade) at the moment with 10k miles. With this in mind, 35K retail from an Audi dealer is about right.

I had it advertised for £23.500 but in fact i was prepared to take any thing more than the £16.200 offered by the dealer ,but only from a forum member,three people made offers,one backed it up with the cash,and what a deal he had.
It had full race suspension including h&r swaybars a full audi service history,with a service and mot the day before he picked it up,and a new clutch.
i shouldn't think you'll get one at his price for a couple of years yet!

well thats funny, audi dealer will buy myn for 35750, and prob add there 3k on top ?

I've always said the RS4 is a car to be driven not looked at or polished or WHY

KK - sounds like mine which I would consider selling for a good offer like this price. I am not looking to sell particularly as it is a great spec low-miles car that is cheap to run on my Audi fixed cost mtce plan, but at that sort of price I might be persuaded to renew my 911 search.

You can ignore the book at the moment, a car will sell for whats its worth - Glasses has been playing catch up for a few months now.....

Book guides are still used as a term of reference. Some cars have been fetching over book recently as dealers are low on second hand stock, but most are fetching book price as appose to 2k under which we saw at the back end of last year.

Most sensible dealers are being careful as many feel the recent upturn will fall away as fast as it started.

A very LOOSE point of reference. I am in the trade, and over the last few months you could have just thrown it away, as it was so inaccurate.

The 2nd hand market dipped to an all time low in December 2008, which was the best time to snap up a bargain, however the new year has been very busy for car sales, except new, and this has pushed up the used car values, with most cars going back up in value in the last two months, and even now getting over-book prices, hence my previous comments about GLASSES playing catch up all the time. This has led to a major recent move on discounts by the manufacturers on new cars, hence how you can get a 1/3 of a SAAB convertible,up to 50% of certain Nissans and so on. There are some fantastic lease deals on new also, but the 2nd hand market is where the money is at present with most dealers very, very short of stock.

Limited cars, such as the RS4, are doing very well now with prices going back up, and higher mileage cars commanding a fairly decent price - I don't think they will recover to the point they were before the slump, but the fact that they won't be bringing out a B8 RS4, and Audis, and in fact most manufacturers, move away from big V8 gas guzzlers, the B7 RS4 should fair well in the future.
