The RON rating is the US is different to that in the UK. I think your 93 is the same as our 97.

US = (RON+MON)/2

We just use RON.

The US doesn't use RON ratings they use the average of MON and RON.

Since the MON value is usually about 10 points below the RON value US "93 octane" is equivalent to UK "98 octane" fuel.
