Have had very good and very poor experience of warranty direct.

When I had my B5 S4 I had a warranty with WD. The initial 2 year period was great and had regular claims which in total came to far more than the warranty. They have preferred repairers that you can go to and they pay direct or do as I did ,pay the bill and claim back, my garage would phone and agree it with them.

The price to extend for a 3rd year was too expensive and then they phoned up offered a cheaper price and chance to pay by installments. Decided to go with it. Didn't pay attention to the small print thinking I was getting the same again but the b******s had quietly changed the cover. First I realised was when my garage phoned up to make a claim for a front suspension link and it was refused - had claimed for several in initial 2 year period.

The audi warranty seems very expensive to me, especially as i will have the higher mileage.

A non-audi warranty would have an impact on values, for me. Unless of course you can ressurrect an Audi warranty subsequently. But I suspect the car would need to go through an Audi examination (at a cost) and it would be very unlucky to then discover a DRC issue....

DRC covered for five years, not three.

£1500 for unlimited mileage, £1200 for limited mileage 15k miles

they will try and sell you the most expensive, ask them to send out the details to your house, then all will be revealed!

Got a phone number?

My 3 year warranty expires in July so I need to sort something out soon.

I called up my local dealer, and asked to speak to someone regarding extended warranties. I'm going to ring round a few and see if anyone is willing to move on price before I commit

This is most probably a daft queston but as mine is coming up to warranty renewal, if I do not bother for a year and the decide to take it out the following year would Audi allow that?

Audi said that if u have a period out of warranty and dont sort it before the 3 year warranty expires, it effects the price

And probably needs them to inspect the vehicle, at a cost to you, before they issue the warranty.

Yes, Yes and Yes, Call up your local/fav Audi dealership and ask them to send through info on The warranty, as it explains all the different types you can have, the most expensive is like 2500 quid, cheapest 1220! I think there is 4 types you can go for (not got the paper work at hand).

If for any reason there is a gap (i.e. the car is out of warranty) then it will need to be examined by a Audi Tech, they will not bug on those prices, they are set in stone, also they have not dropped the 17.5% VAT to 15%, (they gave me some bone excuse).
