after a lot of reading on the posts about tyres and what a lot of you guys were saying, most were saying they are excellent tyres all round,so i decided to go for them my old tyres were dunlop sport max gt 255/35 all round and i have 10mm spacers all round, well after doing over a thousand miles on the f1 tyres giving them plenty of time and mileage to get run in i have to say they are the worst tyres i have ever come across in the wet and in the dry and the dunlops were better nearly bald than the run in f1s and before you all pounce on me the pressures are all correct and i have done various tests already in dry and wet eg theres a roundabout near me that i could go round at 55-60 mph on the dunlops but on the f1s it slides at 45mph now i have tried many tyres over the years on all sorts of high performance cars and i would not reccomend these good years to anyone, now going to buy a set of dunlops again or if i can find some original michelin pilot sports as i loved those tyres on all my cars but hard to come by these days as the ps2 took over, so thats another grand to come out of the pocket, good year f1s

I didn't like my F1's either, only lasted me 6000 miles. I had the 255/35 not the 275 so I can't comment on those.

Fair enough, 10k miles in my F1's still have plenty tread left in them and they grip very well, particularly in this weather

Yep, I've got on well with mine too, though a lot or town driving has taken it's toil on wear. Did you got for a 255 then?

No problem with mine at 15k, saying that I dont take many roundabouts at 60

I had them on my 8P S3 and can honestly say they are they best tyre I have ever owned, and would have put them on the RS4, but put Vedresteins on, and am really pleased with them.

I hated the F1's initially compared to my P-Zeros but got to say they have been a good tyre on balance and I'd get another set.
It may just be you got tyres from a bad batch...if it can happen in F1, it can happen to us...
I wonder if you know another RS4 owner with F1's who might be able to attempt the roundabout at a similar speed to see if it really is the tyres...
Conversely, you are sure your suspension (i.e., DRC) isn't on the way out?
There has to be a reasonable explanation to your experience...

I've got the 275/30/19's F1's on my B5 RS4 and have found them to be excellent so far, much better than the Conti's I was running, and at least as good as the PS2's I had on my B7 RS4.

cars tracking is fine the handling on that particular roundabout was fine on the day when i changed the tyres and all i did was drive to berlin the same day so the tyres were well run in the tracking was checked in germany, good roads all the way no pot holes and when i came back i went to the same roundabout and the car slid out at 45mph and the outside temparature and conditions were same as before with the dunlops, possible shocks or drc could be gone again as i have already had them changed three times, will have a double check again today buy im sure its the tyres as the guys in germany dont rate the f1s at all, will keep you all posted

Bad batches do happen, I must admit to being fortunate that the 6 sets of F1's I have used on my S3, S4 and now RS4 have always outperformed other tyres on those cars at the time.

I am now happy with mine, although for the first 1000 miles I was not - they were lethal. Like you I started loosing confidence is corners and roundabouts. Fortunately, they seem to have settled down and the grip is very good compared to the conti's that I previously ran. I would stick with em for a few more miles.

I also swapped to the F1's after reading the report in EVO & reading feedback on here & i rate them highly, perhaps even slightly better than the PS2's i've had in the past on the RS6 & E60 M5.
TBH the price was a big factor this time round, as at close to £400 cheaper than the Mich's it meant a good think was needed. Defo made the right choice & can't fault mine in the wet or dry or on track.
