But, I suspect the dreaded DRC issue, although no handling probs up until I replaced all four tyres - reason for wheels being off.

Has anyone got any pics of a leaking shock. Had my front wheels off the other day and there looked to be some sort of dampness on the front drivers shock cover, admittedly there was alot of oily dirt about.

If they are just damp you won't get them changed, they supposedly do become damp under normal tolerances. And when I say damp I mean residue but not glossy. When they leak it looks like liquid.
I took mine in when this happened and that was the advice given. You will know when the DRC goes because an RS will not handle properly in the corners and you wil feel every surace through the wheels.
Perhaps this may be contributing to your F1 problems as well if it is severe.

Maybe so Pig, I know the handling went off when the new tyres were fitted. Got to get it sorted as I am off on the rally next week and will be doing some serious diving around welsh roads.

Hi there , If your in any doubt have to pressures checked and if the misting has caused reduced pressures in the balance valve ,this will not help the handling issue you have .
Your local dealer should be able to check your damper pressures as a while you wait job and should take no longer then 30 mins.
If not come and see me at Camberley Audi.
Thanks Stu.

I took mine to Stu on his recommendation due to some knocking (I have my car serviced and maintained there anyway).
It turns out the shocks were damaged (second pair) and its in for repairs again.
Its a very subtle change you feel when the DRC has started to go, but it definitely exists - when its working properly, its a dream and any deviation from that just isnt right!
get it checked out, what's the worst that could happen, get it checked out and its all fine? - piece of mind at the least?
