£50 each will easily cover them being stripped, repaired and powder coated like new ... post on PH in the Scottish section, I am sure somebody will know of a place for you.

As I understand it the oe finish is hard to replicate when refurbishing though not impossible. If you were to go down this route I would only go to places who have already worked on these wheels with a successful outcome - a name that gets mentioned on here a lot is Lepsons (I think?!) though they are a long way from Scotland!

As for places to buy wheels - flea-bay is good but you need to be careful on what you are buying (there are lots of fakes and refurbs sold as new.) That said I got a perfect, new/unused wheel for £150 with valves etc but you don't often find a set of 4 perfect wheels …..

Agreed. I got two OEM wheels from £300 without valves and tyres but that was hard going. The only alternative would be to find a breakers with an RS4 in, but then you are not guaranteed they will be perfect either

Closer than Lepsons but still South of the Border are SEM in Sunderland, have used them for 5 years now on various cars and the job they do is spot on everytime, all 4 refurbed would cost you £232 but that is having them stripped, damaged rims arc welded rather than filler, sprayed, baked and lacquered just like new. You would need to leave your wheels with them for a few days mind so RS4 on jacks Jack (unless you have as spare set of wheels!)

£232 for 4 fully sorted wheels is a great price!! I was quoted £130 by Renowheel to have my spare wheel sorted, and that’s without having to repair curbing etc.

The problem with salvage yards is the cars there are invariably totalled which means usually so are the wheels - that said you get nothing without asking.

Out of interest does anyone know of any crappy standard steel rims that would fit the RS for a few days should all 4 wheels come off to be sorted??
