tubi - expensive for what it is (they have to cut into the original system to fit what is essentially a back box)

I have gone for GMG, based on a bit of exclusivity and the sound I heard on YouTube (crazy I know) but I am pretty certain that I wont be disappointed when its fitted! ;)

Or you could join every other B7-RS4 owner and get a Milltek (they must be good, based on the amount they sell and RS4 owners arent daft, well..)

It's weird, TUBI always sounds great on Ferraris and Maseratis (I got one on my GranSport) but are hit and miss on other cars. Still haven't made up my mind about the RS4 exhaust.

A link to GMG, or other info on it.

You could also consider Supersprint; excellent quality, and noise

I've heard Tubis that were installed on a friend's RS4. Sounds the dog's danglies, I must say. Pretty similar to GMG, but it sounds like GMG has got pretty good pricing -- USD1.5k for more than a catback (or so it seems from their page)

I have been in contact regularly with the CEO of GMG Racing. James has said that if we have a bit of interest in the system and enough people want to buy from the forum, we can command a discount - the whole system will be about £1k! (delivered) bargain if ever I saw one? Mine should be fitted soon, so if you want a demo give me a shout! :)

Tubi all the way

Post by LeeJR » Mon Aug 04, 2008 7:33 pm

I went with Tubi. I did a lot of asking around and research on forums. I agree with the others -- the GMG system's pretty nice. I wasn't looking to replace the downpipes or cats since I'm not mechanically savvy enough to tinker or fix. I'm totally dependent on my warranties and dealer. The Tubi is on the pricier end, but the 5 or 6 people I've met who went with Tubi are extremely happy with the quality of construction and the sound. The Millteks are much cheaper in price and retain the oval look, but some people have had variations in welding quality. There's a guy in the states who had Milltek do a quad system for his RS4 and he ended up painting over some of the welds himself. I think Millteks are good, nevertheless. The GMG system is also very nice.

As far as pricing, the Tubi is on the higher end, but still nowhere near as expensive as the MTM system. The Tubi (probably because the dollar is so weak) cost me $2900. A non valved Milltek costs around $1600-$1800; the valved Milltek $2600-$2900. The MTM catback alone is $4975 and the whole thing with downpipes is about $10000. A GMG is about $1500.

I love my Tubi (as do most others). The sound is nice and angry yet very melodious. No drone whatsoever. The quads also look great if you're ok with giving up the stock ovals. The stock ovals are really quads shrouded to look like ovals anyway.

Hope this helps.
