Likewise, i had one for close on a year, although it got fettled by DMS, however in a drag the M5 would walk away from an RS4 & over 100 it would start to run away.shindy wrote:i had the new m5 for 6 months before i purchased the rs4 .the rs4 is a much better all round car in my opinion and the 0-60 time is very close to call so cant really understand how he left you standing you must be quite a poor driver!!!![]()
Also running VMAX i could get an extra 10MPH through the timing beams in my M5 over the RS4. All that aside, i too greatly prefer my RS4 as day to day in this country i feel it't the better all round package.
Not sure who mentioned curb weight, but the M5 is about 250KG heavier than the RS4 but with an extra 100BHP stock.
Although Ben is seen as the font of all knowledge for all things Nordschleife, i too believe he's wrong about the suspension being heavily modified. The brakes are & the springs are not stock but as a regular visitor i've been out a few times in the Ring Taxi & have been told it's very close to a stock car with only minimal modifications.
That said, the drivers are far from stock & it showed me i could only at best get to 50% of their ability in my E60 M5, even after 4 days Scuderia training
