DRC and contacts at Audi - HELP

Post by David_R » Sun Jul 06, 2008 11:45 am

Having discovered I've got DRC issues on Friday the dealer is doing his best (Epsom Audi to be fair so far have been superb in their attitude) to get the parts and more problematically the fluid by next Friday when I' off to France for a fortnight and a good couple of thousand miles BUT I'm not convinced they can solve it as no matter how good they are they can't get fluid that doesn't exist.

So I don't want to to wait until Friday before being told they can't fix it and I am already concerned that Audi/Dealer will have issues with me taking their car abroad so want to start the campaign for a decent replacement first thing on Monday - thing is haven't got time to write so has anyone got Jeremy Hick's phone number or e-mail address as he seems to be the best place to start from reading other threads.

Also have had no knocking noises or noticeable handling issues and dealer has said one of the fronts is leaking "quite a bit" and the other not much at all - would it be dangerous to stick another couple of thousand miles on it ?

jeremy.hicks@audi.co.uk

I have used it within the last three weeks and had a very speedy response. I'm sure you know how to approach this but, if you did want any advice, mine would be... 'be nice' (to start with at least.

Good luck!

Agree entirely. In my experience Jeremy Hicks is extremely helpful - be measured and reasonable and I am confident he will respond accordingly.

To be fair have spoken to customer services and they've been great so far (awaiting call back) but best of all the dealer service guys at Epsom Audi have worked miracles and come up with enough "oil/fluid" to sort my car from other dealers- should arrive with them tomorrow and will sort car on Wednesday all things being equal.

If not may not even need to resort to Jeremy as dealer saying will sort car for with mke Audi but thanks for the advice and will approach as advised if required.

Cheers

David, it would be good to get some feedback from you once the work has been carried as to Epsom's knowledge of, and ability to deal with, your DRC issues. My first service is coming up in September and it would be good to be armed with this knowledge. Thanks.

I have just been told that Camberly are now 'out of fluid' - not impressed as there is no known lead time... so not only do we have shocks that fail constantly, they cant even be fixed on time anymore.... I think the car is going to get the flick...! Great car, VERY poor at handling known issues!

I have a spare 1 litre bottle of the elusive DRC fluid sitting in front of me. Anyone want to make me an offer for it?

Update is that Epsom Audi phoned me today as promised and told me to drop car off tomorrow as they have got the fluid they need from dealer in Somerset and will have car sorted.

So far so good with them.

I would add that having owned Lotus's for 9+ years then having one problem with a performance car is a doddle so don't give up on the Audi quite yet !!

Nope ... fair point (and it was said with tongue in cheek) but last one was £35k which to be fair is still enough cash for most people to expect no issues but sometomes some cars are worth putting up with a bit of aggro.

That said I do not expect to keep this car beyond end of warranty and I must admit this factor was a consideration in making that decision so Audi should do a recall and sort it.

Anyway in the meantime before (if) Audi do sort it the difference for me is in how the dealer sorts it out and on this occasion Epsom Audi cannot be recommended highly enough. They identified the issue, told me what they were going to do about it, when they were going to do it and they did it.

Took car in this morning and got it back tested, sorted, cleaned and hoovered this afternoon. Top service so far with this dealer and a complete contrast to Crawley Audi who were a waste of space on my last Audi I had a year or so ago.

I think realisicly they won't recall the RS4. I'm going by the RS6 example they just seem to fix the problems as they come in.

Got a reply @ 9 am this morning from jeremy hicks PA, she has forwarded the letter to head of custumer care Richard Starkey, he then promptly e mailed and rang me to confirm that he is in contact with MK audi. He will call me when they have decided the best coarse of action.
