RNS-E Mix and Forward one track

Post by s3marc » Thu Mar 06, 2008 9:56 pm

Does the latest update version of RNS solve the problem where if you are in 'mix' mode (i.e Random) and playing a CD , if you press the button to go forward a track , it goes forward randomly rather than choosing the next track on the CD? if so which version.

Audi techs at the stealers would not believe me today when I was trying to explain the problem.

Cheers Marc

Marc, I think that's normal. To move to next track, you need to get out of "mix" mode first otherwise it will randomly move to next track. Regards.

what i meant to say was

if I am in mix mode and then go forward one track, it goes forward one track (non-randomly) and also seems to cancel mix mode - at least the 'mix' stops being orange in colour.

If you upgrade to SW 0650 the problem is fixed.

Pressing FF no longer cancels mix mode.

Cheers Dave

Will take great pleasure in advising their 'master tech' - they need to upgrade from 0550 to 0650...... as per usual they claimed 'never heard of that problem before......' even told them to go and try it on another RS4 they had in the garage - as they claimed mine was affected by an aftermarket ipod adapter confusing the signals to the RNS from the CD.....

Audi techs are pretty good at mechanical things, but when it comes to car electronics many of them don't have a clue - the Audi training courses they all get sent on must be rubbish!
