Glass's guide shows £1800 drop

Post by mrdeli » Sun Mar 02, 2008 9:40 pm

Last month shows £1800 drop for RS4's.

Is this going to be a continuing theme for the coming months?

Been offered £43500 for my 06/07 car, 5500 miles, sat nav etc... saloon.

Is this a reasonable offer. If i kept it for another year and say it had £15k miles on it what would it be worth?

All help appreciated, thanks.

I went to look at a 635d and asked out of interest what they would give me for mine? wasn't guna do it but just like looking at cars.....

I got offered 43k on mine it's 3 months old and has 3k on the clock plus plenty of goodies. I'd like to think in another 6 months with a few more thousand on the clock it would probably still be in the early 40's. It's just a bad time to sell right now. that applies to every car on the road. if you can, hang on to it for now would be my advise.
Current car..... hmmmmm????

Maybe, but thats life i would expect a drop on price with the arival of the new RS6, however once people realise that the B7 RS4 is a benchmark car i would not be suprised if in time to come that B7 RS4 will out price its younger brother the new RS6!!! I predict that it will be another 3-4 years before you can buy a good B7 RS4 for under £30k!!! Of course i might be way off the mark but thats just my 2p's worth!!!

yeah i keep going round in circles. of course whatever i chopped it in for will lose also, and i can never imagine a car being better than this rs4.... tempted to keep it, but if it would be worth say less than £35 in a year, that's more than i can really afford

If you have been offered £43,500 for an 06/07 car then take the money and run.

06/07 cars are worth £39,500 and 07 cars around 41-42k.
Year 1 expect it to lose 1k per month
Year 2 and 3 dealer will offer you 500-600 less each month.

Was offered £37.5K for mine at the weekend on a 56 with 24000 miles, largely because they had managed to get an 06 Daytona Avant with 25000 miles against a new Q7 for p/x £36K (incidentaly on the forecourt for 40,995)

So on that basis mine has lost £7.5K in 6 months. I'm hanging on to it for some time yet.

Like said it would appear a bad time to sell and I did go on March 1st too. Mind if people are willing to let their RS4's go for £36K p/x then a dealer isn't going to pay top dollar for a similar car. To give you some idea bottom book price he quoted was £38.5 for mine, so offering £1000 less than book (ironically he forgot to score out the book price and when I asked him what that figure on the sheet was he sheepishly confessed)

BTW Had a lovely M6 there too, someone chopped it in for a Q7.

I spoke to a dealer last week who is offering £1k over book on B7 RS4's and shifting them within a week with a good profit.

Find a dealer who has customers looking for an RS4 and you'll get a fair price.

I'm sure that is possible, like I said the price I got was largely because they had one sitting on their forecourt and had got it for a steal.

100% spot on :)

That "£1,825 drop" on the RS4 (saloon, not avant) is not in the least bit indicative of the real market right now
