At idle activate sport button and look to see if the flaps are open, if they are then its working.

The flaps are located in the tail pipes, they are a few inches back from the end of the exhaust.
When the sport button is off you will see that one of the tails pipes on each side is shut, when you activate the sport button the flap opens and you will see up both tail pipes on both sides.

and for the vacuum line, lie on the ground and look up where the valve attenuators are (the round thing next the the pipe) and there is a black rubber hose coming out from that- connecting to the small 90 degree white plastic adaptors which then connect to the smaller green rubber hoses (same on both left and right side). Hope that make sense! Cheers.

At low rpms you will notice little difference. In sport mode the flaps open below 1000rpm (I think) and then re-open at 5,550 (I think) - so apart from looking, you need to go and give it some stick.... or listen very carefully without touching the throttle.

Thank you TURBO, OZRS4 AND NICKM,all for your help.
problem sorted, the had been standing for a while so the flaps got a little stuck, when i checked the flaps they were open, but only half closeing when the sport botton was being switched of,hence couldnt hear the sound changing.
Thanks all again
