Post by Jabbafumi » Tue Oct 09, 2007 3:35 pm

Recently I was out in the sticks and filled up with dodgy fuel, the car went like crap afterwards and hasn't sorted it's self out since, I have filled up at least three times since, any ideas.

If fed a lower ron fuel, the ECU will <beep> the timing and it will feel slower.

When back to normal 98-99 RON stuff, you should give it plenty of hard runs so that it re-adjusts. If it is still running badly, get it checked.

How "dodgy" was the fuel you used? You didn't use diesel did you?

I had a bad week after filling up with "premium 98" from the Tesco at Bicester. Cold starting was poor (often took 2 attempts, and running was rough and noticeably down on power.

A few tanks of V-Power, after letting the tank run almost dry (try carrying a can of V-Power with you and letting it actually run dry) sorted it out though.

When I spoke to Audi they said I should just disconnect the Battery and leave it for 5 minutes, this will reset the car, any comments.
