Remove front badge
For future searchers the answer to my question is as follows:
1. Release the clips holding the left hand side of the badge by passing your fingers through the grille.
2. The right hand side is just a catch so if you move the badge to the right it'll come free.
Job done!

Hanbury, what's the point in having the RS4 if you need to disguise it! Be proud of it.I understand about the colour,as I have a sprint blue car (and love it).I think most people would know its the RS4 and not a 2.0 tdi.

I'm not 'disguising' but I'm also not 'advertising' what it is for the reasons I stated. I am proud of the car but I don't have it (or anything else for that matter) for what anybody else might think. I have it becuase I like it and that's all.
On a practical issue of removing the grill badge.... my car was delivered today de-badged as requested but there is a plastic plate for the grill badge which remains and appears integral to the grill itself. Anybody know different or if it can be removed? If not I may have to either see if I can get a replacement grill or a different badge of some sort ('quattro' maybe).

Hmm, you'll need some tissues for that.theaxe wrote:I'll give it a tug tomorrow...

If it's the same as mine you can release the left side by squeezing the retaining clip from behind with your fingers through the grill. The right hand side should then come away.hanbury wrote:On a practical issue of removing the grill badge.... my car was delivered today de-badged as requested but there is a plastic plate for the grill badge which remains and appears integral to the grill itself.
When my car arrives in a month or so I'm considering removing all of the badges too (for maximum stealth mode). However, a question for those who have already done this: when you removed the badges from the rear doors doesn't it leave a blank 'box' in the door strip?
i.e. in here...

...have you just left this blank or put something else in there? Or maybe a standard A4 door strip doesn't have this blank and could be used instead?

It does leave a blank space but I think that the standard A4 has it too.
If you're debadging yourself here's the technique I used:
1. Heat the badge with a hairdryer for about a minute.
2. Use dental floss to saw through the glue, then remove the badge.
3. You're then left with the sticky stuff. Remove what you can by hand.
4. The smaller remainder can be removed with WD40 and a cloth.
5. Once all of the glue is removed use some T-cut to remove any residue.
6. Put on 2 layers of wax and polish.
Mine came up perfectly, you'd never know the badges were there.

Theaxe - thanks for the reply and the info on how to remove the badges - much appreciated.
If the standard A4 has these blanks then I could live with it - but can anyone confirm if this is 100% the case? ('normal' A4s are few and far between in my neck of the woods - so, I can't check it out unless I travel 40mins to my dealer).

I had all of the RS4 badges removed from mine prior to delivery and you're right I do have a couple of blank boxes but I don't think they look too bad and I don't think the casual observer would even notice there is something missing. I might consider putting some other badge in there but I have yet to see anything I would like.when you removed the badges from the rear doors doesn't it leave a blank 'box' in the door strip?
A couple of tips if you are going to get the car de-badged by the dealer prior to delivery. i) tell them you want the badges (just in case one of the mechanics thinks it would be a good idea to raise a few bob on e-bay); and ii) tell them that when they take the front grille badge off you would like it taken off complete with the clip-on backing plate rather than just unsticking the badge from the plate and leaving a rather unsightly piece of black plastic (sounds obvious but this is how mine was delivered).
