I'd be very careful doing this if you don't want Audi to try and close the site down. At the moment www,bm3w.co.uk are being pushed and threatened with legal action by BMW to close their site down.

Portsmouth Audi are closest to me, but now avoid them like the plague after my RS6 service experience was similar to the first post on this thread, so now go the extra 30 miles to Southampton...even though they're part of the same Harwoods Group, Southampton Audi have been fantastic service wise, including a good price on cambelt change.

Audi staff is ........crap!!!!

Hello guys,

I have been to different audi dealers in the past for repairs , service... and VERY often been amazed how poor the service was and the knowledge about their cars, especially on S and RS models.....

There is no organisation, are not professional, mecanics just know to do 1 thing : oil + filter replacement, pads +discs, when it does start to be a little bit technical......BIG PANIC .!!!!!!!!!!!! and it does end up with a big bill and sometimes the car is not fixed..... :?

I have found the solution, i do not buy new cars or second hand car with warranty so i do not need to go to audi for every repairs (even done under warranty !!!!!)or services.

I prefer to go to a Audi specialist, who will charge a resonable price, will find the problem straight away, no mess about , job done , it is fixed!!!! :D

I don't give a damn about nice showroom, luxurious waiting room with leather sofas so you can wait (for age sometimes) to get your car back...Superb modern coffee machine, mecanics have nice clothes (always clean..??????) , rubber gloves on all the time....
It just a bloody joke in some place, i find myself sometimes thinking: it is only a bad dream....

I am running a small business myself and if i was in charge i would kick some butt !!!!!!!!!!!

There is many specialists out there and they are really experienced, they know their stuff ( i use MRC myself) you don't have the Audi dealers luxury BUT if you come with a problem they do have the solution. It is simple and they don't rip you off.

Still i am sure some audi dealer are better than others, i guess i haven't been lucky.....! :greyrs4:

Having now totally boycotted Wayside, the next nearest is Aylesbury Audi. I have alsmost forgiven them for a 11 mile test drive for an oil service, but at least the last time I could 'negotiate' a price for the 40k service at £340 inc VAT.

All went ok, and last week, I had the 3rd set of tyres fitted all around, but ATS aren't smart enough to reset the tyre pressure sensors, so I did it myself - or I thought I would having done it a couple of times before.

Dilligent following of the manual didn't get results (I won't bore you with the details), but I thought a quick telephone call to the dealer would sort it out. I was confronted with...

We don't have time to talk to you about it on the phone, we are too busy

We don't have anyone that knows about that, except mechanics, that are too busy

Bring your car in next weds (a week away) and we will look at it!!!!

Unbelievable - I even threatened to call Cust Services, but to no avail.

Clearly another wanker dealer.

I called Shrewsbury Audi, who instantly put the head mechanic on the phone and it was sorted in 2 mins. Decent customer service for once. Well done Shrewsbury.

I have no idea what they do at Audi HQ all day, but sacking some dealers off the list might focus some minds.

I have said it before, and say it now - I don't think it will be an Audi next time - great product - crap service

As someone who has yet to take delivery (early next month hopefully) and having never owned an Audi I'm becoming increasingly concerned about the prospects of finding an even half decent stealer for servicing and aftercare :? . Does anyone have any recommendations in Chelmsford or the wider Essex/NE London areas. Obviously I have an idea where the local stealers are (closest for me would be Chelmsford or Rayleigh) but I think I have to go a bit further afield to find one not part of the same Group should it be necessary.

Any input gratefully received.

I purchased my car new at Chelmsford Audi - and have had very good service from them over the years, both the buying experience, service dept, and mechanics - although a few of the "top" mechanics defected to a local independent a couple of years ago (Paul Bailey carsales in Danbury). I think the dealership has recovered now
I need a service in a month or so, so will report back if things have changed

I also feel that it is important to strike up a relationship with the "head" mechanic (or most qualified in RS's) and a case of beer/bottle of scotch/wine always keeps their memory sharp when servicing your car

KC - thanks very much for the feedback. Chelmsford Audi would suit me well so I'm glad to hear your experience has been good. I'd certainly be interested in hearing how you get on with your next service.

Thanks again

Tony

I can't fault Bexley Audi for service, even if the car was bought from Peterborough, who I also hear are good.
