Placed an order yesterday for an RS4 Avant.
Whats the views on SS+?
Worth £500 or does it spoil the ride?
Cheers

RE: Sport suspension + yes or no
Having owned two B7 RS4's, one with SS+ and one without I definitely prefer the current one with SS+. Whislt the ride is harsher, the car looks better and handling seems to be improved. Definitely worth the £500 in my opinion...
RE: Sport suspension + yes or no
Fully agree, I had the two different types on the RS6's previously and it was the same, make a world of difference. Go for the lower firmer SS.
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
RE: Sport suspension + yes or no
I researched this issue in a big way and went for the standard suspension. I guess it depends if you are going to track day the car etc and how hard you want to drive it. The standard suspension really hangs onto the corners, is level and relatively smooth,a great all rounder, so for general road use I don't know why you would want more handling ability where there just isn't the roads to use it (I'm in New Zealand). To answer your question you need to define your useage. Hope that helps!!
RE: Sport suspension + yes or no
I test drove a SS+ and found the ride a little harsh but nothing I could not live with. I have bought a car without it (dealer specced car) and having actually lived with it for a week in and around London the std suspension can get crashy on rough surfaces (common in London) so am happy I do not have it. I would have still bought the car if it had it mind you.
IMHO the handling benefit is minimal and only usable on a track, for the other 99% of the time standard is slightly preferable although I guess the 10mm ride reduction helps the looks if you can notice it.

Interesting to read the above. Does anyone know if you can get dealer fitted SS+ springs on a car without SS+. I suspect they would charge more than £500 to supply/fit and align however.
Has anyone done the above on a car with the standard suspension?
