just recieved speeding ticket from midlands police only to find someones using my reg on their car or may be not their car.be aware .

Getting plates nowadays is hard in the main stream. I'd have thought it was easy to prove otherwise though. You should be okay.

Mail order for plates is easy. nothing to prove or register

You can get non legal plates from any graphic's shop etc., they are termed as 'show plates' and therefore require no log book etc.

I think you may be the lucky one,as local police have warned me that gangs are operating from liverpool area taking legit number plates off genuine cars to put on ones that they are nicking and taking back to liverpool,it insures them a safe trip home if a squad car reads the numberplate on the way home.Audis bmw and honda are there favourite,local plod are onto em but not caught them in the act as yet.

not as easy as that i am afraid cloned car is also ab7 in same colour as well. Have had to have car photographed and tax copied to prove innocent and prove mine is the original. Brummie Naughty boys been out running local plod apparently.

Did they copy the plate exactly, ie the dealer tag ?

I have 'showplates' that I show on the road .. but they do carry the legal Font etc etc
