Probably because they thought they could get a couple of months out of it, then flog it on at cost plus........... sad really but there are greedy people out there......... who usually get bit in the arse and loose a bundle :bigwave:

Well I look like only getting six months out of mine...

It hasn't arrived yet, but it looks like I've got the chance of a 997 GT3 earlier than I expected (a cancelled order). If so, that car will arive in June '07 and, sadly, it will be goodbye RS4 then.

Mind you, my situation is a little unusual for other reasons.

Wow, what a difference this board is compared to the other boards I’m used too....

I'm not generalising and don't wish to p*ss people off, but what's with the sour grapes and conspiracy theories over here??

I'm used to like minded people sharing views over cars they enjoy, not all this cloak and dagger stuff..

Confused.

Its all fun and games on here Steve..

I've had my stint, so now its your turn Steve! hope it fulfills all your expectations.. am going to take it out tommorow, give it a good clean and send you the pics i promised..

RS4ever.. i am an ass.. i get bored of cars, and they last on my driveway less time then some underwear lasts some people! Its a costly habbit to have... but hey, variety is the spice of life.. and you can die anytime.. so in my view, i want to get through as many cars as possible in as little time as possible. Apologies if thats not the way you see things.. but its my life, my cars and my wallet.

(Also, i don't have a permanent female member of my family yet, pushing her way with my decisions, so am making the most of that while i can! am sure some of you will know what i mean..)

Steve, this forum is superb and excellent for all things S/RS.. don't let some of whats said give you the wrong idea.. there are some great guys on here with good/bad experiences to share. Not seen much activity on the side of events/meets etc, but am sure in your neck of the woods, it will be more likely for you.

There is nothing wrong with that philosophy. :thumb:
There are many of us that would like to be able to do the same but don't have the balls to do so or wish to take the financial penalty.
Unfortunately I am one of those who gets attached to my cars - this invariably has ended up costing me more money and heartache in the long run

Kam - enjoy your next car, but remember to be back for the RS4+ or next RS6 whenever that happens :bigwave:

I am from the same mould Kam, totally agreeing with your philisophy. i dont currently have a mortgage, don't answer to anyone, but i expect that there will be a time in the future when i WILL have a 'long-haired General'.
i have a 1 month old RS4, for which to buy was overstretching myself, but i knew if i didn't do it, i never would. it was the first car that i have bought from a showroom since a tax free (dare i say it!) VH way back in 94 when i was permantently stationed overseas. i totally love the car, but find myself now with a move up north, which will involve buying a property. £55k is a bundle of cash to have sat in metal, when you can easily get by with a 20G car, doing almost the same job. No, it wont give me the same smile that the Rs does, no it wont gain me as many glaring looks as the rs, no, it wont roar like the V8 does and no, i wont be able to lose every single car out there into obscurity. It is a great car, but on the flip side, it is a lot of money for a lower middle class owner. I'm just hoping that if i find a decent 3.0tdi Q it will be almost as fun- at least it will roar still

3.0tdi quattro may surprise you mate.. we have an A8 3.0 TDI Quat, and i have taken that many a time for business meetings and been very satisfied with its pull, and power on the motorway..

Had an A4 Cab for a weekend too and that was a new A4 3.0tdi also, and was very impressed with that engine even better in the A4 bodyshell..

The 335d should be a mix of both, have some kind of economy as the TDI's plus still have a shuv of power which i will undoubtadly miss from the RS4.. Im lowering my monthly commitments for a while, as i have a lot of investments coming up, so the 335d should do me until the new M3 arrives.

Plus managed to get one with a nice spec, so will keep all the toys inside too..apart from the S button obviously..... that will leave a big hole.. replaced by a tractor rattle!!

That's a great looking car, I think bm have come up trumps with the new 3 series coupe. I've got a sneeky feeling that the new M3 is going to be one hell of a motor.

[quote="Jezzer"]ThatHave to agree with Kam re 'changing cars' philosophy, drives the wife nuts though, and with Jezzer's comment I think next Spring there may be some 'confrontation' on that front.
Keep the RS4 or 'cash in' on my 2 yr+ old deposit on a new M3 ??

Haha.. good luck with that one Iain.
Me, my brother in law and his partner also face the same predicament.. although i don't have a 'long hair general' to report to (like that saying.. from the above!)

Anyway.. Steve as promised, here are some current pics of the RS4 after a good wash and scrub today..

well the day came.. rather too quick for my liking..
picked up the buyer from the local train station, went back to my house for a good going over of the car, play with sat nav/bluetooth (after a bit of fiddling got his phone connected) and route set for home.. Everything else was ok, signed a ownership transfer disclaimer for any speeding offences on the way home... (u never know...)
and i watched the new lucky owner roar off down the road in his new RS4..

I know its gone to a good home, so thats good news, but still missing it already.. feel a big hole in my garage, and my car keys aren't quite right without the big fat audi fob on it! Just been out in the C220 CDI and im missing it already...

Enjoy Steve.. and let me know how your getting on!
