I have just bought a 4Gb SD card to put MP3 on to and play in my soon to arrive RS4.
I am hearing mow that the 4GB card will not work in the Audi!!! Is this so?
I will not be surprised as, so far, I cannot even format my 4GB card in my PC nor laptop as nothing can read it!!!

RE: SD Memory in new RS4
I had loads of problems with 512 MB and 1 Gb cards........ in the end they self formatted when I put music on themand have worked fine once I learnt to transfer the right format of music
RE: SD Memory in new RS4
I'm using a 1Mb and 2Gb card and no great problems with either.
The RS4 didn't like the smaller card having tracks added separately, but all in one go. Haven't had any such issues with the 2Gb card so far.

I tried from 256MB up 2GB without problem, except with some brands which are a bit borderline with the power required.
Another good reason to take good brands too is the temperature we may have in the car...
To format, update your cards you can buy USB reader/writer. You can easily find cheap ones that can do the job.
However remember that RNS-E supports only 400 files per card, so unless you use 320Kbit/s rate, there is no real interest to go on 4GB cards

I have a couple of 2GB cards which I got from here:

They seem to work fine.
I am sure some of the guys on the following forum have used 4GB cards.

The only thing I think that is an issue is that 400 is the maximum number of files that are supported on a card. That may mean that it may not be able to read all the files off a high capacity card.
