Hey Bob, you should have been at Vmax a few weeks back. There were two new M5's (one modded and one standard). The standard M5 is not that quick! M3CSL's are milk floats......... See the results.........great day.

Looks to me that the RS4 had the M5 comfortably beaten over a 1/4 mile from a standing start... moral victory I think given the M5s competitor is the RS6....

Looks to me that all the RS4's on the day beat the stock M5 for vmax. I personally would've thought the M5 would've beaten the RS4's over the distance. Would this be down to the speed limiter?

I was thinking that too, as on the gps systems M5 do go round to 163/164 MPH and I also think that an M5 is quicker at those sort of speeds (over 100mph). I have an RS4 by the way, good result for the B7 I think, quicker that a GT3 mk2 and only a few MPH off the lambo's. My RS4 has been re-mapped to 440bhp, wonder if I could have matched the lambos!!!!!!??????

Very disappointing. I'm sure a B5 RS4 would have done a lot better.

All the RS4' were B5 not B7 the RS4 saloon is a converted B5 with an RS4 engine, suspension, brakes etc.....What do you mean very disappointed?

Just so you are aware you have a limited straight in which to max your car, then its full on the brakes!!
