Easy ashleyadam...

BMW Z4
Mercedes Benz SLK
Mercedes Benz SL
BMW Z8
Porsche Boxster
Honda S2000
Jaguar XK mk II
Mazda MX5

That'll do for now !!!

I was offered a brand new Silver RS cab 2 weeks ago (physical and ready to go) with a £1k discount...before any heavyweight negotiations.....

Gareth
Scuttle shake is natural for most convertibles have never been in one without it especially all the german cars you have listed.

Sorry but you are totally wrong here. All these cars listed do not have scuttle shake (the Z4 has a touch, but it's barely discernable) as none of them are based on a saloon/coupe originally and then chopped. They were all designed from the ground up as convertibles, with the notable exception of the XK mk II, but it has exceptional torsional rigidity.

There isn't one (as I'm sure you know by how you phrased it)! The S4 Cab shakes about the same as the CLK 500 Cab I had. Trouble is the open cabin is just so large.

Just getting back to the point on depreciation.. i am getting offers for between £48-50k on mine from Bmw Dealers, so they still look as it they are good for retail at between £50-52k on the saloons, so not bad depreciation at all compared to some other cars..

I always get itchy feet and see somethine else and think.. hmm i wonder if..
Not found anything with all round package as the RS4, and the only thing which is annoying me is the fuel consumption, but thats improving the more i drive it, so even thats getting better.

Mate, keep us informed of how you get on with the Cab.. be interesting to see what happens..
Good luck with it.

Chaps the private buyers market for such an expensive car is non existant, the dealers have no waiting lists and the 2nd hand market of low mileage cars is beginning to bulk up. Mine is being collected today as I had no other cost effective (if you call it that) options to remedy the seat issues (another story). Out of 5 Audi main dealers of which were actually advertising to buy high spec cars only one put a bid on my car! The offer bid spread can be as wide at £5K !!!

I have bitten the bullet and whats done is done, but If I was thinking of selling for what ever reason I'd do it sooner rather than later as these are only going one way I'm sorry to say. :(

Mugello Blue Saloon, Carbon trim, Tech pack, addaptive light, arm rest, boot releaee, Sports buckets and only 890 miles!!!

Your RS4 is not worth £48-50k as an outright disposal. IF you are being offered any more than £46/47k it is as an overallowance on the car you are looking at.

At best RS4 saloons are £2k retail behind list, trading at £4-6k behind list.

I'm sorry about this but glad you sold it given the seat issues. What car have you replaced it with and have you re-ordered with recaros for next year?

There is nothing at all wrong with RS4 residuals You are going to drop at least £5k and most probably £7/8k off any expensive in demand car after a few months. To make yourself feel better ask the guy who bought it how much the hit would have been on an S6 or S8. It will be at least twice what you lost.

There is defo nthg wrong with the car at all, I took the hit on the chin which in the long run is for the best. I have not reordered another as I think I may go back on track next year and for my own reasons I found the car a lot more grand tourer than track , altho more than capable a car of holding its own on the circuit, I felt it to speacial (personal choice). Saying that if it hadn't been for the seats id still have her in my garage...

Not sure whats next..I don't want to make the same mistakes regarding seats thats for sure.

Fear you may be right here Gareth.. but still better then buying most brand new cars...! Like Sutters said, if we want to change so quickly, we will have to take it on the chin and move on.. Still not serious about moving mine on yet, but tommorow i find out for definite, test driving the new 3 series coupes. The 335d looks the most interesting to me..

Don't worry - RS4 Cab prices will be rising tomorrow after Clarksons's column today!
Maserati GranTurismo GTS Auto, S3 Sportback, TT2 3.2 Roadster, Disco3 for the heavy stuff.

There is a Cab RS4 on Pistonheads at the moment for about £63k. Is it me or is that not a huge amount of cash for an Audi? I bought a year old RS4 with 4k miles on it in 2001 for 42k from an Audi dealer so for prices to go up in such a small period is mad. A new S8 is about that much.

Yes thats what he has it up for..thats fine but where is the bid? where does it sell?

I had my saloon out there at £50K (£3K less than it rolled out of the factory 3 months and 850 miles previous) thought id get my arms ripped off....not to be!
