Aussie RS4 in my garage

Post by geebee » Mon Aug 28, 2006 12:27 pm

Picked up my Sprint Blue RS4 late Friday.

This is the first RS4 my dealer has sold.

69klms on clock when I picked it up.

Ordered the Recaros.
Very comfortable !

Aussie cars do not come with a bottle of engine oil in the boot.
What oil have people been using ?

30 is a bit low isnt it? 40 I would say for UK cars... higher for hotter environments.

Castrol Edge 5W/30 is the replacement for Castrol Longlife II and is VW 504 00 and 507 00 approved.

It's one of the oils recommended by Audi UK - not only for the RS4 but also the S4.

Mmm, dont want to start a debate on oils as I have seen them go on for weeks and weeks. I would only be happy with 40+ in my car, 5w50 if it is available, certainly not lower than 40.

Geebee, you brought the car second hand but changed the seats?

Ordered the car in Feb with the NCO (no cost option) of the S4 Recaros.
Also ordered the seat memory option.

Was worried about whether I wld fit into the orig seats.

Hi Geebee, thats a shame as four of us are off to the Mornington Peninsula tomorrow to give our RS4's a workout.

That's not even an option in the UK - I've got the Recaros and would have liked the memory option (my wife and I need the seat in very different positions and to have the memory option would have been great). Yes, I DO let my wife drive my RS4.

Anyone know if the memory option can be retrofitted (not by the dealer - they always say no!)?

I am based in Sydney too, live in paddington. I have had my phatom black RS4 since April. How are you finding it. Be careful on the Sydney roads, the DRC can go wrong
