Any views on getting a polymer coat put on? In this day of hosepipe bans, i'm told cleaning a coated car is as easy as spray with water and sponge off - no shampoo or waxing needed. For a few hundred quid, sounds like you get your investment back in the event of a resale within couple of years (not that i'm thinking of selling my RS4!)

If you thought we were anoraks...
However after trying lots of things, I recommend paying a pro with a porter cable a clay bar and a pot of this:

I have had it done on my car and can recommend it highly. I haven't washed it since, just spray on some baby bath with a foam gun and hose it off. Comes up like new. All done by Dave at www.jac-in-a-box.com
