Karl, I would have thought it was more likely to be early August, seems they are shuffling them along quicker than the original estimate of 8 weeks, I know cabrio was less than four weeks from start to finish............

mine should be soon after thaT then i guess, seeing as my order was soon after yours at same dealership, just wondering why i haven't had a build week though
I would have thought your build week will be released very very shortly and if it is you may even get delivery before mine arrives, subject to your spec. My spec is what is pushing the lead time out to 8 weeks on my car

I am being told that my spec is what is pushing my cars lead time out to 8 weeks. Even so if the car arrived in August I would probably wait for the 56 plate

I'm a bit puzzled. When they say build week, is that the week it's actually finished or when it's started ?

And does it really take 8 weeks from then to actually get it delivered ??

The one I got on order seems build week 38, so somewhere mid september.

If that means delivery somewhere end September, fine. But if I got to add 8 weeks to that, that means a car arriving mid november instead of mid August as originally planned... :audibash:

The build week refers to the start of manufacture. My car is on a 8 week lead time due to its spec. The 8 week lead time is NOT standard at this point in time

Tanoga-
well, the spec of yours is somewhat different

Mine is mugello, with silver recaros(this seat issue may well delay MY delivery too)

usually, the dealer wont know when the car is arriving, in the case of the RS4, saloon or Avant, or cabrio. He certainly is being optimistic. I hope for your sake that his info is kosher. Will be exceedlingly green if other Avants are on the road long before mine :bigblink:

Hi everybody. I have been lurking here for a while and really appreciate some of the information I have gleaned from the site - for that many thanks!

My situation - I specced an avant as soon as the books opened (in March I think). My dealer had offered me his only slot for 2006 (apparently). He has seemed to be pretty straight with me and doesn't seem to have fed me too much bs. Last week he told me that my car had an unconfirmed build slot of week 26 (i think). This week apparently it has moved back to week 43! He says that a number of other slots have been moved around (eg for Q7).

I noticed somebody mentioned the recarro seat options? are they delaying cars with that spec? I am of "solid" build so chose recarros, especially as I will be using the car at least weekly for 100+ mile round trips.

Can anybody shed any further light? I am now looking at not getting th ecar much before the end of the year, which is very boring.

I would get back onto the dealer and find out why the build slot has moved backwards so far........ I was originally told week 21 for mine, and it moved back a few weeks but simply no explanation for months unless the dealer was selling a build slot which wasn't his. Stories of dealer rationing and other strangeries abound.....

I wondered if somebody internally had nabbed my slot, say for a demo or MD's car. I previously had a B7 S4 from the same dealer which had been the MD's car....

Good thinking M80. Wouldn't be surprised dealers and salesman are accepting small 'presents' from new customers and are discreetly swapping the orders around.

My car was promised for delivery mid August and seems to now only be built end september. Add the build and delivery, that means probably at least 3 or 4 months delay.

Audi did however not only bullshit me on delivery. I received an orginal contract hire quote for 875. The new 'business manager' now told me it's on the system as 991...

Of course, they waited to say all this until they had my 1500 deposit :FIREdevil:

My guaranteed in writing No. 1 slot for my Avanat at the dealer was oddly shifted to No.2 After making a few phone calls giving a different name I discovered that the dealership was expecting an Avant demo in July whereas my car was looking like much later than that.

So I pulled the order and I hope they all die painfully.........

Audi Australia are now just taking orders for the Avant, if order goes in this week the build is for week 42 of this year & delivery not till Jan 07.

Expressions of interest are to be commited via a deposit of AU$5K followed by another AU$5K on confirmation.

FYI - drive away price for the Avant is expected to be AU$180 (this includes 10% GST & 24% LCT).

Due to my relationship with the dealer (this will be my 3rd Audi & my family accounts for another 3 Audi's in the past), I will not be required to pay a full deposit.

So, now deciding what colour! Disapointed that the black is not a solid but a metalic... Maybe, go for the silver or the charcoal...
